Am putting on a Jubilee Tea Party on Monday for friends. Love cooking and entertaining so in my element here! The rule for me is that all food has to be British, so as much as I like Greek Salad & the like, I cant serve here. Did toy with a BBQ but I do a few of those anyway and want this to be different, so here is my menu list:

This is what I have in mind for tea party…

Sandwiches:
Egg, Tomato & Salad Cream
Ham & Piccalilli
Beef, Horseradish & Watercress
Strawberry & Black Pepper
Cheese & Onion Chutney
Cucumber & Cream Cheese
Smoked Salmon
Plain Cheese & Plain Ham for Kids

Cocktail Sausages
New Potato & Radish Salad
Mini Cornish Pasties (home made)
Mini Scotch Eggs
Sausage Rolls
Pork Pie (or may make a pork & egg pie, or make a sausagemeat, chicken & stuffing pie)
Crisps

Victoria Sponge (probably strawberry jam & cream, homemade)
Chocolate tray cake (bought, but could cook brownies, or do an Eton Mess, or toying with the idea of making Iced Buns)
Ice Cream Cones
Birds Trifle - for pure nostalga
Jelly

Got around 12 adults and the same number of kids coming... anything British I have missed off or would be worth considering.

Surely there should be coronation chicken on the sandwich list?

You forgot the chunks of cheddar cheese and pineapple on sticks :)

Some pintxos, tapas and paella should go down well ;-)

Seriously, have a great time.

should't all the food and drink be a mixture of german

Another vote for coronation chicken. Kinda appropriate in the circumstances doncha think?

Strawberry jam sandwiches on freshly baked crusty white bread cut paper thin. Tuna and cucumber sandwiches, cut into triangles of course.
