I have been converting my files using different software, and have come across a file size issue. Tonight I opened the same image in 4 software packages and the saved the file to 300dpi and jpeg quality 10 and these are the file sizes

Photoshop CS3 2,074kb
Lightroom 4,134kb
Canon DPP 6,276kb
Canon Zoombrowser 6,000kb

DPP is 3 times the size of CS3, so I'm wondering what information has been lost

(ps I did NOT save for web in CS3)

I suppose it all comes down to which jpeg algorithm the particular software is using?

The disk file size is really the only thing you should need to worry about though.

:agree: me too, I aint got a clue what a huffman table is.
Is it someting you pick up from DFS?:shrug:

I beg your pardon?
Methinks the image quality should be your first concern, and the disk size only second!

Have fun!
