Very Good Jon, a fitting image for such a poem![]()
I agree, well done![]()
great shot for a such a poem
A bit late for week 1 sorry Jon,
week 1 - its the B&W version for me too, it certainly gives the impression of if you are falling.
week 2 - nicely thought about and shot Jon - very touching

I thought your no1 mono shot was very good.
Your poem theme though has reached even higher heights. Very moving & well shot too.
Week 1 - I actually prefer the colour version but would like the contrast boosted a bit. Really gives a sensation of height.
Week 2 - Very poignant and nicely set up. How does the full colour version compare?
Hi Jon,
I really like both of these. It's a great start to your 52.
A couple of comments. I prefer the colour version of the first but I think maybe tweaking the levels to increase the contrast would improve it.
The only niggle about the second one is the brown mark on the poppy just above the black centre. Can you clone that out? As everyone has said it is very poignant.
Jenny
Brilliant shot, the two complement each other really well
Nice shot this week, similar subject to me this week too![]()
The Curve of those stairs is excellent, and well captured. I prefer the B&W version
The poem and image work really well together... nicely done Jon
Hi JJ,
I prefer the colour version of your Curved entry, but I agree with whoever said it could use a touch more contrast. Great photo otherwise!
Did you write the poem for your week 2? It's very good. The photo goes very well with it.![]()
Then thank YOU, sir.i am currently a serving member of our RN Submarine Fleet

Then thank YOU, sir.![]()
No Thanks needed my friend, Its been my pleasure for the last 21 years, but soon time to give it up and join the rat race again.

as others have noted - very poignant
(only trouble with the rat race is even if you win - you're still a rat!)
Beautifuly framed, the selective colouring works well, add the poem and that's one helluva moving submission you've got there.
Well Done Jon.
Have you tried a shot in plan elevation Jon, it looks an interesting object in its own right.![]()
The 3rd shot is definitely a better view of it, the first two seem to have a bit too much going on.
sorry, Jon, I'm not feeling the love either, fella.
The last attempt didn't go down to well so here is another attampt at week 3's Chopped.
Much prefer this one Jon. Didn't quite get the first. Was trying to work out what it was, although I do remember that sort of thing from my old school days in the metalwork shop.
Any chance of seeing the first image of the first set in black and white? I could be wrong (often am), but I think it might give it added punch. The latest image fits the theme much more clearly, but I can't help but feel the original was a more intersting subject, just a matter of figuring out how to present it.
Hmm, b****r, I think you're right. Bah, I'm not good enough to see where the image is in that, but I'm sure it's in there somewhere.
Like your chopping board shot Jon, nice light and colours.
I can feel a hearty winter stew coming on!![]()
Jon by far the second shot, nice contrasting colors and the vignetting keeps it all held together nicely.
