Yes
Can you advise this simple process as I cant seem to work it out:thinking:
I took one exposure which exposed a castle but blew out the sky, the second exposed the sky but blackened the castle so I'd like to merge the 2 into 1 pic.

thanks

I think the path you want in PSE 8 is:

1. Open the two photos in PSE 8.

2. Then:
File > New > Photomerge Exposure

3. You can then choose from Automatic Mode--Simple Blending (which really is pretty simple, but you have to accept what the computer gives you) or you can do Automatic Mode--Smart Blending.

Or...you can use Manual Mode.

I'm sure someone more experienced, and talented, than I will happen along soon to give additional help.

PS Photomerge can use up to ten photos. Of course you want to use a tripod.

Oh...I have middling experience in PSE 8, so I've run into this specific problem before. There are many very knowledgeable people on this forum who blow me away with their skills.

Hi: I am sure Elements will do this. But I use LR/Enfuse plugin for LR3, you purchase it, but essentially pay your own price. It works very well. Just search for Photographers toolbox.

If you get the 2 images layered one above the other you could use a layer mask and paint in (or out) the bits you want to show/hide. Here I have painted out the bottom of the mask alowing me to see the lighter forground on the bottom layer.

It should be easy enough, open the 2 images in photoshop then on one pics select all and copy, back to the other image and paste. Now in elements 8 I don't think you have layer masks so you'll have to cheat and use an ajustment layer which does have a mask.
