Just to let you know that the staff are aware of this thread, it has been reported a few times. Can we remember to not get personal in it please. It's a very emotive subject so can we be aware of people's feelings too thanks

I know it is not entirely my fault, I have said a few times that it was not only my dress but my behaviour that helped to cause it. Yes the rapists is at fault and that is his cross to bear in each case, but I've taken responsibility for my part - and I DID have my part.

My behaviour does have something to do with it.

If you believe this then you do still need some help. Rape is a crime of anger and hate and has nothing to do with the victims dress or behaviour.

While I completely agree with hugh - could I maybe suggest that a public forum isnt the best place to be discussing something like this.

At the end of the day its stephs choice whether she seeks further help or not ,and as none of us are qualified rape counsellors we need to be very careful that we arent adding to her woes by undermining what she believes to be a resolution.

maybe we should stick to the jimmy saville, nonce or not, discussion

Sum total of evidence against the creepy landlord was that he was a bit creepy and had mad hair.

Just to add to what Steph's saying, a few times I've helped drunk women find their way to a cab when I've found them all but passed out along the High Street. Had I been predatory in any way then.... well I don't think I need to go there.

Whilst being out and drunk isn't "asking for it", being in a fit state to look after yourself gives you a lot better chance of not becoming a target.

The missus will kill me for saying this but there have been times when we've been out drinking she'll ask what we did when we went to bed ;) ;) and genuinely have no recollection of what happened even though she seemed completely with it at the time and was able to make quite specific demands from me

Gone off on a bit of a tangent here but I understand where you're coming from Steph.

No one deserves to be raped/attacked, however there are steps you can take with regards to your behaviour and appearence to make it less likely to happen.

Not really a lot different to a bloke walking around late at night on his own behaving in a particular way to try and avoid being beaten up by a gang of thugs.

No one deserves for that to happen to them, no one asks for it to happen but it is a reflection of the World we live in today.

Ok, as people are starting to try and guess other people involved (which could get us/them into major trouble) I am going to close this for a bit.

Now if everyone could go put this much effort into a discussion about photography or, god forbid, some critique on photos then that would be excellent.
