There was a vid the other day of a Covid guard beating a dog to death and I thought that would be the most upsetting vid (I didn't watch) but this just seems like a vision of Hell. Several more similar vids in that thread.

Its all relative, there are probably situations say in the Middle East (Yemen) where Ukraine looks like a walk in the park!

Oh Dear. OK. I'll clarify for you and PLU who I should have known would be along sooner or later. It sounds like hell on earth.

And IMO what's going on in the Ukraine doesn't have to make the above any less of a hell on earth and viewing the above as a hell on earth doesn't have to affect our views on Ukraine.

Being able to take your pet hamster with you as you flee is a potential plus point. But of course getting out alive at all isn't always possible.

Anyway. I don't want to make light of any of this. Those vids of what's happening in China had quite an effect on me which is why I posted here... and not in the "war in the Ukraine" thread.

Crazy, they are flying drones around the area telling people to get back inside and stop shouting from their windows - there's a scarcity of food and people are worried about starving to death, it's a pretty grim situation :/ 2022?
 
They're singing? Well, that explains it.

There must be major mental health worries and very possibly suicides as living with that day after day must be telling and again and just to be clear this takes nothing away from what's happening elsewhere in the world and there are threads for that.

I saw on another blog people had tokens which allowed them to leave home, one trip out = one token handed over to the guard who'd then let you out telling you what time to be back although it sounds like that's not allowed in some areas. Those who haven't been able to stock up may be in trouble if communal kitchens in the apartment blocks are under pressure.

Yeah it says they are singing but in other videos it seems more like random screaming, could swear I heard children's voices too.
