Hi folks,
Just thought I would tell you about the acquisition of my new rucksack. I had fancied the Redsnapper one, but have always been wary about buying anything I hadn't physically seen or handled. I had seen and tried for size Jessops Trek 2 but thought it was too expensive at £49.00. Because I had been looking on the net for similar items, I suppose an adware cookie had latched on to me and Jessops kept popping up, and I noticed that the Trek 2 was being advertised as an on line only purchase at £29.00! not a bad difference I think you'll agree. I called into my local Jessops yesterday and mentioned the above and to cut a long story short they let me have one for £29.00 by doing a price match with themselves! So I thought that was a tip worth passing on for people like me who don't like buying on the Internet and giving card numbers etc. I hope this helps.

Jessops do an order to store. You can order online, and then collect at store. Helps stop arguments later, in case they don't believe they can price match.

Seems a bit silly to me.

i dont really like jessops much,... they seem to be more sales and less advice .. I asked the woman on the phone if she had a 10-20 3.4 to 5.6 Sigma lens and she didnt know what it was? When i got talking to the guy who new about it he was more interested in selling me a load of filters and stuff that i didnt want or need..

I think it depends on the Store. Some are better than others. Some assistants are more into photography than others. Stores will have sales targets which is why you can get the hard sell for things. It's annoying but they're only trying to do their job as management dictates.

I can only speak from experience with the Merry Hill b,ranch, all the staff seem very knowledgeable, although some are more clued up about certain brands that they own themselves. Obviously they will try to sell you things as that is why they are there, but they are quite happy to chat if the store is quiet, and I have never felt any kind of pressure, not that I would ever be pressurised into buying anything I didn't want or need. I also like their policy of returning anything you are not 100% happy with, I feel it does give you the confidence to buy.
