It was £20, and I thought "great, I'll be able to get the flash at a different angle" and set to trying it out on my first self-portrait. I have another tripod (from my husband's telescope) so was attaching it to that, but it's SO SO short! Basically, where I wanted it to go (we're only talking a metre or so) was too far away and it was pulling the tripod with my camera, could have pulled it over. Eventually, the tripod with the flash on fell over and it's now broken  (the cable, rather than the flash). I got an idea of the difference it could make with a really flattering shot, but after that couldn't use it! Mightily peed off.
Do I need to spend more and look elsewhere, or are all off camera flash cables this short?
