Well as an employer of Jessops, I see how bad it can be there! But what can I say, I get a call from my manager and he tells me that i've won a sony laptop!

Over christmas we had incentives and Sony had one where when you sign up to them you get put into the prize draw, I think you had to sell a certain amount of Sony products to be entered in as it turns out I did and won a Sony Vaio laptop

And this is the one, I won

Well done and hope you enjoy your new prize.
I love Jessops they sold me a Sigma 100-300 f4 wrongly priced on their website at £599 instead of £1230 and honoured the error price :):)

hmm, i see - you when customer came in - "i don't know what to buy" - you pushed them to the sony cabinet to up the sony sales??????

Now now, this isn't going to turn into a Jessops-bashing thread, or I'd have mentioned the "No sir, you don't want a D3x, overpriced waste of money, have a look at this a200 instead" thing earlier. ;)
 
I don't thnk that anything in my post was jessops bashing - just questioning the ethics of many companies offering incentives for staff to sell x over y or z. And yes , I know it goes on in all lines of commerce and business both B2B and B2C - however at times I am sure the customer is getting what the salesman wants the customer to have to boost his commission / profit / chances of winni g a prize than what is good for the customer.

Let's not be totally naive! This type of promotion and incentive goes on in all areas of business.

I guess Jessops could have been tight and with-held the prize to use for some other purpose.

Well done to the OP and as has been said, let's leave Jessops alone. I'm sure many among us have used them to try a piece of kit in our hands before buying on t'interweb! It would be a worse place with no high street shops like them.
 
good for you... personally after my last experiance with them ill never ever phone them ever again...1 month later, 2 D300s badly packed and delivered everywhere except my house and ive gone to park cameras instead..

it even took 5 calls and 2 weeks to get my money back even though they said they had done it, credit card company said they had not... Ive been buying stuff from them for 5 years now and felt terrible the way i was treated. It took 31 phone calls to Jessops, 5 calls to DHL, 7 phone messages, 5 left messages and 3 emails before they returned my call initailly after recieving the first camera...the camera was in a box twice the size with next to no packaging in it.. and that bubble wrapp had burst... wasnt even supposed to be delivered to my home but work address... All i kept hearing was im really sorry this should not happen bla bla bla.... then it all happens again the second time... by then i' d had enough!!!!!!!!

wrote and complained hoping it would go higher up, never got a reply... my advise... Do not ever ever use them......If thats how they treat a £1100 camera, then they really dont care!!
