Went yesterday on my lunch break to Jessops to pick up my 5DII. I was a bit dissapointed they didnt hve one in stock :(. Once he knew i was eager to buy. He called a neighbouring branch as they had stock. Go one sent over that afternoon.

so far probably most of you would expect that. What got me was when i said because of work commitments i couldnt get back in time for close. they asked how long after close i could get there and i said 10 mins. He said with no hesitation, dont worry get here when you can and i will wait for you:clap:.

I had the shop to myself when i got there and indeed a brand new 5DII was there and he let me play around with it to make sure everything was in order. Didnt try to rush me. I walked out with a nearly 1/2 price 2nd official Battery and some screen protectors for free.:thumbs:

Yes i could have saved a few quid online... in this case service was great and worth the extra pennies. They get a big thumbs up from me!

Got my 350D/1 of my 40D's/7D/70-200 F4 from them, great service each time (different branches).

And so want the 5D MK II at the moment. :D
 
That's really great when someone takes the time to make a personal difference in someones life. Well done to the member of staff at Jessops he is a credit to their organisation.

I've been in to a couple of branches to have a fondle of a Nikon D90 (I have permission to buy from other half but have so far resisted)

Both stores were really happy to let me try the demo model, they pointed out the relevant offers available and were really professional.

Mmm still haven't decided whether to change or stick with four thirds yet though.
 
I've always thought that if you get awful service you should complain about it. Equally when you get exceptionally good service you should let people know about that too.
It's so nice to see that in this instance Jessops have gone the extra and made all the difference. Well done to them, and to you too for letting us know.
 
Now this is a refreshing change to all the "lets bash jessops" threads.
A bit of personal service goes along way everytime.

I always get amazing service from my local Jessops, we don't hear about the good service often enough, yet we're al happy to slag off a company when they make a mistake!

Could'nt agree more.
I recently bought a manfrotto micro positioning plate on line from Jessops to be picked up at the local store of my choice. Not only did they keep me informed of the delivery date via text, but they did not take payment until I picked up the device from the store, which is quite a refreshing change.( to many company's want payment the minute you order).
Anyway apart from the exceptional service from my Jessops store in Fawcett St Sunderland( which I will definately use again) the item was at least £12.00 cheaper than anywhere else:)

i think i might just even get a letter drawn up to the branch. I know his name and will make sure he gets a nice pat on the back for a job well done.
 
I use Jessops in Basingstoke quite a bit, purely as I tend to buy a lot of stuff on the spur of the moment!!

On every occasion I have had excellent service and confidence that the guys there know what they are on about :D

When I was considering the 120-400 i called them to see if they had one in store and although they didn't they didn't think twice about getting one in the next day in case I wanted to go and play with no deposit and no expectancy to buy as I stated it would be a couple of weeks away if I were to buy one.
 
yep Manager at Leicester Jessops was helpful as when I was getting the D5000, 5-6 days out of a 10 day perion I was going in and asking him if he could open the cabinet so I could check it out, never tried to force a sale whilst giving me good advice about the pluses and minuses as I was switching from Canon.. when I finally decided there was no other consideration to where I was buying from.. Leicester Jessops gets a big :thumbs::thumbs: from me..

Agreed, My son & myself have both dealt with that branch & always been happy with the friendly, sound advice we have had from there.
 
This actually shows that it really is down to the staff and not the business.

It's almost a shame that the Jessops brand is mentioned in good or bad press as it is almost irrelevant.

I guess it's perhaps a little sad that good old-fashioned customer service is now the exception.

But great to hear a positive experience.
