Ordered a Lowepro Rover AWII from Jessops online on Jan 6th. Website said "up to 10 days" for delivery - which wasn't a problem. Didn't appear in 12 days so contacted through their website and they said it would be 2 weeks, followed by another email saying about 28 days from day of ordering PLUS 5 to 6 days for delivery! Sent them numerous contact complaints through their Customer Service contact web form but still getting nowhere. Does anyone have an actual email address for them that I could send a formal complaint to? Don't want to cancel the order yet as it was a really good price (£70) through the webcode for 20% off all bags, which I got through a TP member on this forum (thanks for that...I think!). Or are they just trying to p**s me off so that I cancel the order...? :bang:

Any help appreciated

Cheers, Dougie

Phone them? Seriously, just get on the phone.

Well, what did you expect dealing with Jessops ?

You are obviously a masochist, so just lie back and enjoy as they give you grief.

I'll stop now as I can feel a rant coming on..:gag:

But I don't want to speak to a call centre moron - I need an address for some senior management.

Cheers for that -

Typical Jessops.

That's a bloomin good price, if they eventually deliver !!!

In the meantime I just spotted this auction on ebay.

Something to do whilst you're waiting for Jessops perhaps ?

If you win the ebay one, maybe for a lot less than £70, you could then have the satisfaction of cancelling your Jessops order !

Yes, it is a good price - that's why I was wondering if they can actually deliver at that!

Thanks for all the comments guys.

The thing is they don't need to pee you off so you cancel the order, if they don't want to sell to you at that price they don't have to - it really is as simple as that, they just cancel the order and don't even have to give you a reason why.

Having said that I hope they come through for you

Nice attitude to take there. Senior management probably is not the best route to take strait away, but hey its up to you. If you contact them what do you expect them to do? They will probably pass the letter back down the chain for someone else to respond to.

Have you contacted the call centre? I would have thought not. It is very easy to criticize. I would personally give it a go and if you dont get a satisfactory answer ask to be passed through to their line manager.

Look at it like this. Jessops are pretty much a drop ship company now, they hold very little stock as suppliers do not trust their credit rating. They will order something in for you once you have paid them the money. You have just placed an order after Christmas the busiest time for retailers and they have said that it could take up to 28 days for it to come in.

Read the original post please....they said 10 days, not 28 days - and are still showing 10 days on the website today. I got in touch today and they quoted me end Feb - that's 49 days from date of order...! i got in touch with Lowepro myself who said they had them sitting on the shelf! I got back in touch with Jessops (and so did Lowepro to be fair to them) and all of a sudden Jessops say they'll get it in next week! Moral of the story is - I don't think 'morons' is that bad a name considering - do you? I could think of a lot worse. If a company the size of Jessops can't order one single bag correctly, without the customer having to intervene and introduce them to their supplier, then they should just pack in! Sorry if my attitude offended you....

Cheers

then they should just pack in!
Yes, they should pack it in, think of all those premises that could be turned into Charity shops - and you might just get someone in there who knows a bit about photography !

I can remember Jessops as box shifters in Leicester opposite the Magazine, with queues around the block prior to a Vat increase. They then opened their 'World Photo Centre' which was excellent - loads of stock, training sessions etc.
Then they started on their shop opening spree and it was downhill from that point. I suspect accountants were probably involved somewhere along the line.
The quicker it gets put out of our misery, the better.

No need to appologise, no harm on the forum :-). All im saying is that some people in call centres are gems and can help you along. Jessops are in the poo, everyone knows it. They only reason they are still open is becuase HSBC cannot really afford to write off so much debt. I would guarantee that if they had far fewer stores or held more stock which was paid for, then the bank would call it a day and draw their losses in. The fact is Jessops have a poor credit line, look what happened with Sigma! Its a shame, a company that was on the up, expanded too quickly, took on too much debt and didnt react to an Internet climate.

Back on topic, i would have to agree with you that going all away around your arse to scratch your elbow takes the mic trying to get your stock. Never mind ey!

No Probs :)

I've got this theory that Jessops are putting these great vouchers on the web - and they are great offers, let's face it - then get the orders (and cash!) in and just sit on it for as long as they possibly can get away with without ordering the goods right away. Anyone else had similar experiences recently? Cos lets face it, if they just came out and sold the gear in their shops for the prices on the web (with the 15/20% off vouchers for bags, tripods etc) then they would take away all of the competition on the high street - but would they make any money from it...?

Cheers

Good news !

and the one on ebay went for £45.70 plus £5 postage
