Hi All,

I bought a Jessops 360AFD for my 450D a week ago and so far I have to say I've been pretty impressed! Cost me £71 (after 10% discount).

I'm quite new to flash photography and just starting to understand bounce, diffusing etc.. and been playing around with it. At the weekend I went to a wedding and took some what I think are great indoor shots :D, and alot of them you wouldn't even think it was taken with a flash! I also took some close up portrait shots of my little niece using flash bounce of walls and came out really good, with correct colour balance almost every time! There was once a time I hated flash, but I guess that's the built in flashes for you  .

But going back to the 360AFD, I'm surprised at the feature set for £71. To me it feels quite well built, has manual mode, supports E-TTL II if camera has it (mine does). Has an LCD display showing ISO, Aperture, lens zoom position and focal length. I can even adjust flash compensation via the canons "Flash exp comp" menu to give me +-2 EV stops. Only has optical slave, but not the end of the world.

I'm now so converted to flash that I was even tempted to go for a secondhand canon 580ex already! but not sure at my level what extra feature it would give me??? or keep the Jessops 360AFD??

Ive got 2 of them as the suit my needs perfectly. Nicely priced and does a lot for the money

show us ya pics:D

im deciding on a flash at the moment, dont know alot about them so dont really want to splash out on a pricey canon one.. :)

Thanks for your post... Dave hit the hammer on the nail, the flash also suits my needs, and I don't really need an expensive Canon one until I'm doing some serious flash photography :D

I'll upload my pics in the next day or two

I have one of these and the 300AFD, the 360 is a much better unit, and does a great job for the money. I'm sure the Canon flashes are better quality, but if you're on a tight budget ...

Just wait till you get a set of wireless triggers and get the flash off the camera... but that's for another day ;)
