Day 310. Somewhere Up Slieveanorra.

DSC_14351-2.jpg

Another day spent getting distracted. Went and got a stage map this morning for the rally tomorrow. I walked most of the stage to find a jump, mission successful. :D

This was near the top of Slieveanorra, the weather changed quite dramatically. What started as a sunshine lit walk, ended in hail. I've not made up my mind yet about tomorrow, think I'll see what the weather is like in the morning, if it's hammering down I'm going to the Flickr meet, if not the rally it is. :)

Missed you on Skype mate, give it a ring if you like.
I'll be on and off, wont be hard to catch up with me :)

Day 311. Rally Of The Glens.

Another early start, made it to the "jump" and then found out that they were running the stage the other way around, so a jump turned into a slight bump. I stayed for two stages then legged it down to Belfast for the end of the Flickr meet. I got the shot I was asked to get, so I'm quite pleased. I'm actually going to spend some time on PP, my WB was all over the show for some reason. Glad I shoot RAW. ;)

I could say something very obvious, but I won't ;)
Good use of the foreground mate, I've been looking at possible venues for next weekend.

Day 312.

A lazy day spent hanging around coastal towns waiting for good light. It never happened, so will just have to make do with this. I thought I had a rainbow picture in the bag, but the lens was covered in rain, (it was raining you see) and I can't be arsed cloning the rain drops out.

I've tried two different versions of this picture, one had a lighter foreground, but just looked un-natural. It was in shade so therefore a bit darker, and this is how it stays. :)

Heard today that two of my pictures from yesterday are being used for the Ballymena Guardian and Times. Yay for me!! Shame I've had to do them for free. We all have to start somewhere though. ;)

I thought you Irish were afraid of the sea! It's where the English come from and all that :D

It's where you English drown you mean... :coat: I couldn't be afraid of the sea, I'm never that far from it.

Hey nice shot Jonny. Where's that D700 and 70-00 VR then? :D

Not yet Dave, I didn't see a need for it just yet. ;)

Day 313.

A lazy fill in day for the most eagerly awaited game of all time!! (maybe a bit over the top, but I'm kinda excited) Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is out tonight and my order is waiting eagerly for me to pick it up at 12am tomorrow morning. (Yes, I am a sad geek) :D

Oh yeah, picture is a pano from the Knockagh monument. I climbed through a hole in the fence and stood at the edge. I think it's 12 shots in total. :)

Day 314.

A rushed shot for a lazy game playing game. Was in the Abbeycentre last night at 12ish, didn't get home until 2ish and didn't go to bed until 430. It's a bit good!! So played it nearly all day apart from picking Thomas up from work and eating. :)

Strobist: Vivitar 285HV 45deg camera left 1/16 green gel, fired through light tent. SB900 45deg camera right 1/32 yellow gel fired through light tent.

I knew that was why you've been offline all night :D

Parcelforce have made some error with my cousins copy and all of his contacts are playing it lol.

Catching up again, love 310 mono processing and the compositon in 311 is fantastic.

I will have to get CoD for the PS3 at somepoint, but not even unpacked the PS3 yet, from all accounts it sounds very good ;)

You guessed it, ALL of my contacts were playing it last night. :)

The campaign was excellent, very edge of your seat stuff. ;)

Love the sky in 312 JD. Is this Call of Duty that good that people were queuing at midnight to get a copy?

Thanks Marc, that's the one!!

Like the use of the green gel.

Least you like it and after all that waiting it wasnt a let down!

I was never not going to like it Lisa, after the last instalment was such a let-down they had to get this one right. :D

Day 315. 50 To GO!!!!

No Way Through.

Found an old mill today. ;) It's been completely knocked down, but still has some great textures and stone work. That was it for the day, more COD, some food and a few dog walks. Ninja dog Marley is now able to open cupboards.

This is quite a long way from what the original looked like, it's had a bleach bypass layer, cross processed layer and more...

Nice shot dude, can't work these out myself yet...

Could do with your help with something if you have the time mate.

Like the last shot, Bleach Bypass is my favorite filter effect in Color Efex, it's amazing!!!

Day 316.

4098306622_1f3720dc18_o.jpg

A wet rainy day, so no exploring for Jonny.

Attempted a texture with this picture, it's a chopping board overlayed onto the picture of Marley. I like it, makes a dull shot something. It's also had a B&W curve and a bleach bypass again.

My pictures didn't make it too the paper, it was always going to be only the Ballymena Guardian that they were going into. Apparently the paper tog threw the teddy out of the pram. He'd been to the rally on the Friday night to do portrait ones, and they were used instead of my action ones. Ah well, maybe next time. :)
