I'll sort out skype in the morning, I doubt I have a mic anywhere though..;)

Like the different perspective on the Giant's Causeway shot, nice mono too

Cheers Julian, I had to use mono, blown out sky, just a horrible day for taking pictures. :)

Day 288. First Roll Of HP5.

DSC_9871-2.jpg

A day spent dandering around Belfast Zoo, I received my Ilford HP5+ film this morning. So into the FM it went. I had a reasonable day around the zoo, but being with a non-photographer killed the picture taking a bit.

A most accommodating friend was forced into showing me how to develop it. It's fairly simple. A run about tomorrow buying up developing bits and pieces is on the cards. This is hastily "scanned" into the computer, I used an a4 page over a piece of glass with a light behind it. Will definitely need to sort a more convenient way of getting the film scanned. (more convenient=cheap+easy)

Jonny that is fantastic, love it! The composition is great for a start and that film look is just soooo nice!

Day 289.

An uneventful day, met my mum in Ballymena for lunch, talked to Merv over Skype. That's it.

This is the sunset location that I'd mentioned before, definitely worth a revisit, because I forgot my ND Grads this time!!

Ta Lisa. :D The next time I'm there I'll be taking a pair of waders/wellys and my ND's. I reckon a long exposure after the sun had just disappeared would be nicer. ;)

Sounds very good to me

was a bit of a naughty boy to get this shot. The sign at the fence I climbed over said " No Trespassers, Antrim Gun Club." I didn't see any guns, so thankfully I got out alive.

My grandad was forever doing things like this but he was normally the one with the gun to shoot his dinner

Day 290. It's Clean!!

A day out with Belfast's shop assistant's living nightmare. She tried to barter with the women in argos. I laughed!!

I had nothing else planned for today, and I hadn't washed/cleaned the car since buying it so decided to get the polish and vacumn out. Cleaning cars is harder than I remember, it could really do with a machine polish and a de-tarring, but I couldn't be annoyed. :)

Inspired by Merv. :D

Looks like you did a cracking job on cleaning, did all that rubble/stones come out your car :D

Day 291.

Another Sunday spent at a motorsport event, yet again I left early. This was a drifting event at Bishopscourt, called "King Of The Court".

Was enjoyable if a bit samey. I wish I could have stayed for the head to head runs, but other commitments meant I had to leave.

Nice capture there Jonny, I can imagine that drifting would get very boring after a short while.

Sounds/ looks like it would get boring quickly. Nice shot though.

Thank folks, I think the qualifying etc are a bit samey. The head to heads are meant to be a lot more exciting, they actually try to keep up/overtake each other on two seperate runs. :)

Day 292.

A day that was over before it began really. Spent it clearing out the "Man Room" or the box room with the computer etc in it. I cut a table in half and took this shot.

STROBIST: Snooted SB-900 90deg camera right on 1/16 105m setting.

Day 293.

DSC_0403.jpg

Quite a busy day, spent this morning building a table and chairs for "Gran from Hell". Then went on the hunt for picture frames, got quite a nice A3 one from IKEA, which will do for my copy of a photo. I've to try and source another 2 cheaper frames for a couple of photo's that have been ordered by competitors from Day 291. :D The prints were supposed to be ready today. But, colour problems at the printers meant they looked terrible!! So, I'll be using old faithful DS Colour labs. :)

For today's photo, I forgot to put auto ISO on. Therefore resulting in a drastically underexposed photo that I had to process quite enthusiastically to get anything from. It's a photo anyway.

DSCL rules mate.
I've given up with my local printers, last time I was there he did my photo half price as it didn't even match his own screen!
