JD's 365.

That's shot's hilarious
I didn't know you can get a hangover off Jaegermeister!

Day 247. Beware!!

Strobist info: Sb900 remotely fired directly behind bottles at a -1.7ev setting on a 24mm zoom. On board flash used as "fill" on a -0.7ev setting.

Nicely lit JD - and as pointed out the OOF window makes the shot :)

I found this shot from a few months ago, was one I completely skimmed over. B&W has just made it. :D

Love this shot in B&W

Day 250. Where's The Ball??

 nothing more, just

I'd have liked to see the picture as the poor dog took his snout out of your stinky boots

Day 251 Feeding Time.

Quite a stress filled day, spent the entire day on a large site on the north coast. Things just didn't go right, and the fact that I don't really care, didn't go down very well.

Anyway, macro Tuesday, or macro "any day Jonny doesn't have time to look at his camera".

Redundancy offer still a no show. :(

Lovely capture of your pet spider at tea time :)

Sorry to hear about redundancy offer, hope it comes soon

Day 252. Welding Mask FAIL.

Another un-fulfilling day at work. Was told again that my redundancy offer is "on it's way".

I tried the welding mask filter on a sunset shot, I FAIL. Or does the welding mask FAIL??
Thankfully I took some other shots with the D40 and 50mm whilst waiting. I like this one. :) You will probably recognise the location, I've been here a few times.

Oooh happy birthday mate!
Just a quick stop, still busy busy, but I had to pop in when the forum emailed me :D

Day 254. Don't look, It's that bloody camera again...

Irony is definitely not lost on the call-out God's. If they exist. This is the busiest week I've had on call in months. I got home tonight, had my tea, then was straight out the door again.

So I'm only in, and a picture of Sasha will have to do. I didn't hear about redundancy, it's being finalised next week, hopefully. :)

Day 255. Armagh Jail/Gaol.

It's sunny again!! Since it was the European Heritage Open Day, Pete and I decided to go and try and visit a few sites in Armagh that we'd been hankering to get into for months. Armagh Jail being one of them. I was slightly disappointed with the limited access allowed, but Pete pointed out that it was actually a tour, normally if we were properly exploring the place we wouldn't have a guide or an open door!! ;)

I took this shot and knew it would be for my 365, so did Pete actually. I think it works better in B&W. Today also reminded me how soft my 10-20 is wide open. 11-16 Tokina required me thinks...

Photogenic room, with the toilet in the corner and the small window, like the window light on the floor too ;)

Another lens ;)

You'll love the Tokina 11-16. I had one for a brief while (nicked it off my brother for a 'test') and its pin sharp wide open at 11mm 2.8, even at the edges of the frame, but its expensive. You'd be better asking yourself if you're ever likely to go full frame and if so, hold off onthe purchase and when you have the money get yourself a 17-35mm Tamron for £200 ish and a D700 :D

i have been toying with the idea, but being relatively new to photography, I think I'll stick with the D90 for the time being. I will probably be buying a 70-200VR 2.8 soon, and can't really afford the outlay for a D700 just yet. The 11-16 is a great lens, it couldn't get much worse than my 10-20. Though it had seen it's fair share of dark, dingy, damp and cramped places. :D

Day 256. Herdmans Mill.

Another day, another site to go and see on European Heritage Open Day. Gotta love the heritage!! We were up early and away to Sion Mills where the mill that gave the town it's name was open.

It's huge. And absolutely mind blowing, this site is my urbex holy grail. Shame it's only open this one day. ;) ;)

Undecided on what picture to use, so you get both. One following on from yesterdays light through a window type shot, and a large workshop.
