weekly Jason's 52 in 2016 - TOPICAL

Nice and sharp (the photo and the blade), well lit and bang on theme. Great start to your 2016 52 (y)
Nice terminator theme going on there Jason, and really well done.
I love the attention to detail, especially where you've added the effect behind the left eye too.
Liking this a lot.
It may not be my thing but It is a clever composition and fits the theme.
Very well executed idea for the theme placed nicely on the industrial background
Hi, very clever and well executed not really my thing but I can appreciate the work that has gone into it
Interesting image,
Imho it seems to lose itself in the darkness, i think it would give more punch if maybe lighten the skin, and give a bit more light and colour to BG:)
Did also think it was perhaps to dark overall. Good crit, thanks
Very nice Jason and wonderfully executed - not usually "my thing" but a great take on the theme :)
Thanks all for the positive comments. Appreciate you all dropping in to comment

Nice and sharp (pardon the pun). I racked my brains for something worthy of shooting inside the house for this theme but fair to say you cracked it.

Love the background / surface choice too.

Don't know how this one skipped past me but that is one great piece of PS magic - love it. Excellent fit to the theme of course but it sets itself apart by it's novelty let alone PS prowess. Well done you

Great PS work! Thanks for providing the tutorial link as well - some great tips on layering and colour matching in there! Did you use the Colour Efex Pro software for the final edit ? I hadn't seen that before but it brought the image together well.

I like the darkness of the image - it reflects the darkness of the subject!

I do like these Cyborg images, very much.
Well processed and presented

Interesting image Jason, looks like a real super hero film baddie. I would have no idea where to start processing something like you have done here. Bravo, Good luck completing you 52

Hello Jason...a nice refreshing change, love what you've done with the compositing, very well done! I think I would have preferred to see the cyborg half a little bit shinier and perhaps have the background stand out a little more, but maybe thats just me. A great image, well done again!

Best,
David

Catching up on my commenting now I'm back on a PC.

Old - nice image, like the hint of reflection both on the surface it's sitting on and the blade.
Metal - That's some amazing editing, not usually my sort of thing but the more I've looked at it the more I've liked it.

Hi Jason ...well I always loved your Photoshopping and that's a great start to this year, what a fascinating creative idea really well executed

Thanks David, good point there about making cyborg half shinier, i think that could work well

Yes color efex used to bring it all together at the end. Highly recommended it, if you've not tried it

Hi Jason, great composition for Metal. Very different to every other subject I've looked at so far :)

Thanks all for the CC. Much appreciated folks

Metal - I love the subtle range of tones, the clean composition and crisp reflection - nicely done!

Hi there Jason, good to see you back (y)

You're off to a good start with

Old ... first rate, clean shiny, subtle reflection. Really nice idea for the theme.

Metal ... A cool portrayal, I watched the video, interesting but not sure I'll try it.

Interesting and very well executed, must have taken quite some time. Liz

Thanks. Around 2 hours to process including portrait shoot to capture my half ;)

This is very clever. I'm usually pleased if I successfully clone out a dust spot.

I love your Old Jason. I can't seem to get those razors anywhere anymore. I remember them being used to get rid of down hair along the neckline...then our dad applying aftershave!! [emoji32]
Like your metal too. Fits very well and a good composite

Blimey, Metal is a great piece of work, what a fab composition, could see this on a movie poster (y)

Glad it brought back some memories for you.

My memory is of my mom shaving her legs with one of these

Hi Jason great to see you back here again, fantastic start to your challenge, looking forward to following your thread.
Thanks Mandy. :) look forward to following you this year. Good luck

I think its great, and I don't know if this is a compliment or an insult, but I thought there was a fair bit of PP to get an Icy look. On further inspection it looks like you've achieved everything you needed with great lighting.

I find this image disturbing - which is probably a testament to the realism you have captured - nicely done

Yep like too. Love the skin pushed up against the glass. Really makes the image.

Gaz

That's very good, especially for a "grab" shot! I like the lighting (something very horror movie-ish about it) and rain/water on the window as well.

I would be interested to know if the light was on the same side of the glass as you, and if you had any problems with reflections? You have got the image very clear through the glass, which I thought would be difficult, particularly with all the water on it.
