Hi Folks. I'm back after completing the 52 in 2014. As I did then, my interpretations will be largely based on photoshop compositing with the aim to photograph as many of the elements as possible - Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, perhaps some will say a subtle form of "shoe horn in" - But I'm OK with that

I will visit as many threads as possible and my strategy is to initially keep comments short and sweet until the numbers start to dwindle

Good luck to one and all, and let's enjoy the ride together

So off to a safe start for week 0 - Old

Safety razors are all the rage now, though old in origin with patents going back to 1850. for the men out there who've never used one - ditch those plastic fantastic razors and cartridges of yours, and youll never look back

Old by Jason Glyn, on Flickr

A good sharp image. Like the colouring very much. Shadows on the blade a little distracting but not enough to spoil the image.

A nice, clean, crisp capture Jason, and I like the fact that's it's in black and white. I also like the hint of reflection underneath. It's very similar to the old razor my dad used for over 50 years (although he only ever bought Wilkinson Sword blades!)

Hi Jason, loving the composition and the interpretation, focus is spot on too but it's all a bit grey for me on my screen.

Hmmm Looks like I have competition :D
As others have said, Jason, its a really nice clean image, maybe too clean, so I'd say in by a whisker

( sorry :coat: )

Hi i get its an old fashioned way to shave though it does look rather shiny and new which is a minor crit for what is a lovely clean and sharp pic

Lighting on a white BG is never easy; it looks a little under exposed on my Mac.

Anyways, a nice, clean submission.

Cheers.

Yup, have to agree Andy. I always seem to notice these things in hindsight when pointed out

Thanks man. Now get out there and buy yourself one - Muhle R41

Hi Jason ....I'm really pleased to see you back in for this year :)

Super shot for the topic....right on theme and I love the processing and the composition, absolutely spot on.

Thanks Susie, always appreciate your comments :)

Fair point, noted for next time. Cheers

Lol.... Hell yeah! Creative use of back story to make a picture fit the theme - my specialty ;)

But think of the money you could save, aside from investment in razor, 5p a shave Vs 20p.....lol :)

It may not be my thing but It is a clever composition and fits the theme.
