Daily Jake's 365 Challenge

Love those bluebells Jake.
As for the still life, as has been said, it's too close to your background, you can sort that out if you want to play around with layers & blur it back & then bring back the flower through it, but easier to do that by moving it away :) I'd have maybe moved the jug to the right to give an uneven space, as I quite like that, but if you like it central, that's fine, as it's your shot :) I would use a greater DOF to get more of the flower and jug in focus though as it would have made it pop just that little bit more.

Lovely shot Jake .............like how it leads your eyes into the photo

Thanks Vince!

Thanks Sarah! I hoped you'd be along soon to teach me! I was shooting handheld so couldn't increase my f-stop at all, next time I'll use my tripod, some fresher flowers, and buy a big sheet of paper for a backdrop, this was 6 taped together!

The lighting in the bluebell shots is lovely. Love that pic of the Canada Goose family.

Thanks Michael, I went back today, and sadly there is one less than yesterday :(

That is perfect Jake, I love it, the composition & exposure are spot on. What were your settings on this.
The light is also really good as are the lovely spring colours. You are making the most of your new camera.

Thanks Sarah! :)
The settings are as follows 1/250 f4 ISO100 105mm.

Wow you are really getting to grips with your new toy...

Some fab images since my last visit...

Did really well on the panning on 130
Great bluebells and 137 is priceless

Thank you very much Jeff!

Day 139

139/365 by JRTurnerPhotography, on Flickr

Went for a wander around Westmill Wind Farm with Poppy this afternoon and took the opportunity to grab my first Oil Seed Rape shot of the year. I was also involved in a car accident on the way back from taking this!

The geese are very cute, but I really like 138. 139 is brilliant! Hope you weren't hurt in the accident (and it wasn't your fault. And the insurance will cover it)

Thank Tim! Glad you like them all! :D
I've got whiplash, going to pop down the doctors tomorrow. It wasn't my fault, an elderly lady stopped at a roundabout with nothing coming, I stopped in time, but the transit van behind me slammed straight into my car. He'd been driving quite close and I was just thinking its only a matter of time before he has an accident. Poppy has a bit of whiplash too, worse than mine however.

Bloody Hell Jake - hope it's not that bad for the two of you :(

Nice pic though  - needs the horizon leveling just a touch acw ;)

I can see why she liked it, the dappled light & sun coming through the trees is lovely. It would make an odd print size, but if you crop to just below your copyright across the middle, you lose the dark bottom of the shot, but keep all the dappled light.

loving day 137

..and amazing magical light in day 140 ...
Thanks :)

Some magical work Jake , day 139 is a winner for me bud !!

Thanks Vince!

Thanks Sarah! I will crop it down a tad, it's cropped to 2x3 print size at the minute.

I like 140 too - lovely light coming through there.

Thanks Sarah :)

Yep 140 definitely appeals to me. Really nice!

Edit: Nt sure why, but I've missed you as a contact on Flickr. Added now, but saw your post about Poppy's new stream. I must say I'm very impressed, looks like she's a natural talent and a chip off the old block!
