Day 117

117/365 by JRTurnerPhotography, on Flickr

Went to Bristol on Saturday for spot of shopping, and went down to the waterfront for a bit. I have never done a triptych before, but decided that these 3 shots of this very colourful skateboarder could work. What's the verdict?

Canon EOS 40D|50mm f1.8

I think the triptych works fine - and it was a very colourful skate boarder!

I thought Poppy got her hair dyed BACK to her natural colour? She does look slightly blonde there....maybe you should get the crayons out and do a little PP on that sketch? :naughty::D

Yep - the skateboarder works well and yep some PP on Poppy's hair is needed :)

It is dyed as close to the natural colour as possible, although it's not as blonde/brown as he sketched, maybe he had no orange

Thanks :)

Day 120

120/365 by JRTurnerPhotography, on Flickr

Well tonight me and Poppy went for a walk around Badbury Clump again, and my kit lens decided it didn't want to work anymore, so I'll be using my 50mm for now. Took this with it tonight, and it is so much sharper and crisper than the old kit lens!

That is lovely Jake - it's all starting to go green round here now :D

Very nice Jake, you've captured that lovely bright crisp spring green as well. I like the fold of the hill in the foreground, the crop lines give a lovely lead in.

Thanks Sarah :) Glad you like it! :)

Thanks Sarah! I love it when Summer starts rolling in!

Day 121

I considered putting a huge watermark on this one, with all the talk of the new government act and copyright laws. But it ruined the photo, so I stuck with the small signature like always. This is a shot of Lydiard House and Park on a nice spring afternoon.

Canon EOS 40D|50mm f1.8

That's lovely - well jealous of the huge sweeping green lawn.

Two strong landscape images this week....with nice balance between the elements...

As always Jake cracking photography young Sir !

That's lovely - well jealous of the huge sweeping green lawn.

Thanks all! I am quite enjoying shooting with the prime lens at the minute, especially for landscapes! While not the sharpest glass about, it is a huge step up over the kit lens, which now sits redundant and broken in the corner!

Wow, can't believe I got so far behind on this thread. Sorry about that. i've only just seen your photos from New York and I must say I am very impressed. That B&W in the station (that's a poster if ever I've seen one).

I wasn't particularly enamoured with the first one of the taxi though. Not sure if it was the selective colouring or the advertisment for mama mia ;)

I really like your recent landscapes too. 120 is really nice

Thanks for catching up Tim! :) The Grand Central shot is my wallpaper at the minute, I really like it!

I know SC is a bit marmite, but when in NY it's got to be done  Although I agree about the Mama Mia advert!

Thank you :)

Had a busy weekend - so just catching up.

Nice sunset, that cat is enormous - get it on a diet

Hope you can manage to sit down now - after your mum's paddled your backside :D

Day 127

127/365 by JRTurnerPhotography, on Flickr

Received a tip off that the Snake's Head Fritillary (Fritillaria Meleagris) are out in Cricklade, although not as many as previous years, due to the floods and freezing temperatures we've had this year! They were still easy enough to spot, especially this large clump.

Wow, what beautiful colours - my dad has them in his garden, but far more muted than these.

Thanks Sarah! We don't have anything like this in our garden, we struggle to get good light, and stuff doesn't seem to grow well! We planted some California Bluebells and some Orchids yesterday, so fingers crossed we get something!

Well, Simba the oldest pup is slowly digging up one end of my flower bed - so this year I'm not really hoping for much of a variety

 Mangoe loves to spray all over the plants, which tends to kill them! He's the only cat I know that goes to the toilet in his own garden, lazy !$@£!%&
