Day 107

New York City - Day 3

Another shot that has been done many a time, however most opt for the wide angle lenses and squeeze the whole Terminal in. I decided against that, and made the ticket office more of a main focal point.

New York City - Day 5

I used my time in New York to try something I've never been confident with, candid shooting. This guy on his phone was a great opportunity, and the fact he is facing away makes a more powerful image in my opinion.

New York City - Day 7

The view from the top of the Rockefeller Building at night. We did the Sun and Stars option, to view Manhattan in two different lights. Another panorama, this time just 4 photos.

New York City - Day 8

Our last day in New York, it went far too fast! This sums up the city to me really! Where else in the world will you see a smurf crossing the road without a care in the world.

It looks like you had a great time Jake. It is a fantastic city and I hope to get back to it some time again. You have a great set of shots there, I'm only on my phone on I will get a proper look tonight when I get home.

Great set of photos from your trip, Jake, nice and varied and all very interesting to view - I had a quick look earlier on my phone, but that couldn;t do them justice to be honest.

Seems that you had an amazing time and am so pleased that it appears to have lived up to your expectations!:)

P.S. Oh, God, Boo - my sister has that thing all over her FB page FGS!!! LOL

Thanks Sam :) I tried to pick a varied bunch for the 365. I've made a thread in the architecture and urban section that will be updated over time.

Boo is adorable!

That is certainly cute, never heard of it though :)

There's books and everything of him!

Wow, some lovely shots there Jake I'm hard pushed to pick a favourite - I'll check out your flickr a bit later - so pleased it lived up to your expectations - I'm well jel :D

Thanks Sarah! Go on, pick one, I know what my favourite is and I'd be interested to hear others views!

Actually I quite like the central park one - it's all You've Got Mail  and I like the single shot of the street at night. I imagine the panoramas will look good printed out - but they are lost on my little screen :(

My favourite is the Grand Central Terminal shot!
I know what you mean with the pano's, even on the widescreen monitor at work they are quite small, on flickr there are some non pano shots that aren't on here and some different arty farty ones. :)

Wow wow wow Jake they are super stunning! Looks like you both had a lovely time... i shall head over to Flickr to see more and get extremely Jel lol:thumbs:

Good idea for a holiday collection, might have straightened, lightened & moved them over on the paper so you didn't hav the edge at the back.
also next time, fill them as well so you can drink it after :)

This - even though it's a filler pay attention - you can do so much better ;)

I really couldn't be bothered last night, I even looked at it and thought, this could be so much better with 2 minutes of effort, but I'm jet lagged, so I just went with it!

Day 116

116/365 by JRTurnerPhotography, on Flickr

Went for a walk to Badbury Clump today in search of bluebells. Sadly the majority haven't come out yet, and the ones that have are just showing faint purple. As we walked around a sudden hailstorm came down, and I grabbed a quick photo of it. I'm pleased how this turned out, the hail lines really add to the scene!

Oh, yes, the light in that is great and the rain really does add atmosphere (or weather LOL) to it - love the effect it gives.
