I stole mums whisk from the drawer :lol: I will use a lighter next time! :) I don't think petrol is the best idea, though I was tempted to poke the wool around the inside of my fuel cap :lol: if you think the underpass is big enough :)!

Flickr Explorer shows the photos which is awesome :D I wonder how they choose? As I think the yellow flowers photo is my worst work this year!

No petrol isn't very sensible but there are plenty of less volatile options :thumbs:

The yellow flower photo is better than you give it credit for. The simple composition and almost duo-toned / sepia look really suits it. But, and more importantly, your message with the photo is very touching. That gains you lots of brownie points when trying to achieve an explore would you believe.

Nothing comes up for me, how strange! But I found it elsewhere so I can keep track now :thumbs:
I can't believe none of yours have explores, you have some brilliant photos!

A lot of it depends on where your traffic comes from too. I don't post to Facebook, don't have an active blog, don't use tumblr, and I'm one of very few photography hobbyists out of all my mates. So all of my traffic comes for the odd forum post, and maybe the odd flickr group I add a photo too. I have a miserable hit rate on my photos to be honest! I rarely break about 70/80 views in total per day.

I have a photography page but rarely got more than <1% from Facebook. I get a small amount of traffic from here, the odd google search and the rest I guess comes from groups on Flickr. I do post to quite a lot of groups, but then I spend a lot of time looking at others peoples photos in groups too :) I got 260 views yesterday, and the majority of which come from the 365 groups I think! 884 views was my peak on the 13th of January, but I posted a lot of other photos that day. Getting views/favs/comments etc is good motivation to carry on taking photos every day!

That's excellent keep it up! You got some excellent shots on your stream so it's well worthy of it :)

Excellent, if that is your first wire wool shot it's a real cracker. But nicking your Mum's whisk!!! LOL. They do work well though, we used a whisk when we did it and a chain dog lead to swing it from.
I quite fancy having another go, but using some different chemicals with the wool or some copper wool to get some different colours.

This was the first that worked, but I'd never tried before last night. We had some disasters with lighters running out/wool falling out etc, but we worked out a technique and got it going and this was the outcome. I'm quite proud of it if I'm honest :)
I'd like to have another go soon, with some better lighting equipment.

Had no idea what to photograph today, so headed to the internet for inspiration. I stumbled across a tutorial to create physiograms so set to work. This is done by attaching my iPhone (with torch turned on) to a shoelace which is then attached to the ceiling. Spin the phone and start the exposure. Little bit of playing in photoshop gave the funky green colour, and here we are! Not quite perfect but I'm happy with it for a first go!

Whisks and laces - what an inventive couple of days you've had! :D I really like them both, especially since it is your first time at them - great photos! :thumbs:

Don't worry, they were my shoe laces! I've decided it was a family whisk anyway :lol:
It was risky having my iPhone attached to the ceiling with selotape I must admit!

This was what I tried doing the other week when I done light graffiti but my tripod didn't allow me to lay under it

Thanks Carol, the camera isnt actually in any danger as the torch is attached to the ceiling (or in this case my iPhone)

Thanks Trace, I didnt use a tripod, I just led the camera on the floor on the LCD screen facing up and shot it. I had already manual focussed onto the phone prior to starting everything up :)
 
I keep meaning to give physiograms a go they're really a lot of fun to look at so I think I'll have to give one a go in the next few weeks, I might have a go this weekend if I get time :D I think that's quite good for a first attempt with room for improvement

There is definitely some room for improvement, but I was in a rush, lost track of the time filling out the application forms and tests for the Police :lol::police:
