As the title says, I've absolutely spooned the speaker in my iPad and now it fuzzes and distorts, even at low volume, my fault for banging drum and bass through it. :D

Has anyone else noticed this on their iPad?

Will try and replace the speaker if possible :)

Speakers can be bought from eBay. I imagine the hardest part of the repair will be opening up the ipad without marking the case.

If I remember rightly the glass is just double sided taped on. Heat gun to warm the glue and prise the screen off gently (you have any spudgers?). Watch the ribbon for the home button though.

Vids on YouTube are your friend :)

I've got a MacBook pro to replace the glass on at some point, same principle from what I've seen.

I've heard that about, the iPad front glass.

May have to looks at the ifixit guides, I do have spudgers :)

Spudger.... Brilliant. My new favourite word ;)

Update....

I've checked the ifixit guides, tbh it looks like a bit of a palava to do.
5 chances to render my ipad an expensive chopping board and 1 chance to get it right.

I think i'll just leave it alone, then spoon it some more, with bassline and fast techno :D

How long have you had it? Is it worth a punt at taking it back to Apple if its in warranty?
