Ive never really liked Jeremy Clarkson ...

Do you actually think that public sector workers should be dragged outside and shot? How would you feel if Clarkson said all the women strikers should be taken outside and raped, or all the children should have their hands cut off? Not really so funny is it.

Did you actually watch the show and see the comments, or just jumping on the popularist moronic bandwagon?

Did you read what Gary wrote:

from what i remember (although i wasnt paying that much attention) he had said he loves the strikes because all the roads are clear, then he jokingly said 'ahh this is the BBC, I'm supposed to provide a balanced opinion, so i'd drag them all out and have them shot'.

was meant to be a joke, but a pretty dumb one if he thought it wouldnt be taken out of context.

I love the quote from Jon Trickett:

Jon Trickett, Labour's shadow minister for the Cabinet Office, said: "No-one wants these strikes but most of today's strikers are mums, not militants.

Well, let me tell you, he wasn't trying to gain entry to the Imperial War museum yesterday. Militant was exactly the word I'd used to describe the picket line trying to deny people entry.

Jeremy Clarkson :clap::clap::clap:

He's A Jolly good fellow,
He's A Jolly good fellow,
He's A Jolly good felloooooooow,
And so says all of us.

i think that his comment was largely tongue in cheek, it's just his way of making the point that he disagrees with the strikes, but exagerated

Good grief, now Unison are considering legal action against Clarkson

PMSL!!!!

Perhaps there are members of the public who'd like to start legal action against the unions for loss of earnings too?

You have to take JC with a pinch...... I mean whole block of salt :bonk:

Let's face it he described the W12 Tourag as having "enough torque to make the earth spin faster" which we all know is complete non-sense but it gets the point across better ;)

I have sympathy for nurses who often have to work long and anti-sociable shifts but teachers who get around 13 weeks off a year, STFU and get on with it!!!!

Clearly you arent a teacher or know any teachers, lessons get planned and homework gets marked when exactly, in days gone by you may have been correct, most teachers in half way decent schools these days do a massive amount of work outside their "normal" hours, it just isnt obvious, like all things that look easy it takes a lot of hard work.
Not that I dont agree their pensions are very generous etc and outside of public service employ pensions (my own included) have take a battering so its only "fair" that if there's not enough money in the pot "adjustments" have to be made.

And for a complete sense of humour failure - watch this video

This woman has created a laughing stock of herself. To say that Jeremy Clarkson's words have caused fear amongst yesterday's marchers is utterly ridiculous.

What a complete *****

I wonder if a few people in this thread are caravan owners:thinking::)

  oh dear, wiping tears of laughter. I am sorry, she compares Clarkson to Gadaffi...I mean seriously!!

It took me a while to get used to Jeremy and I still disagree with a lot of what he says but that does not matter as he is an entertainer not a source of information.

His delivery however is almost unequalled and hilarious, He has got me through some dark times.

Rave on

No chance of that - she clearly has no sense of humour whatsoever - just look at her face - you can tell she's not smiled in years.:lol::lol:

Get a life!

If you find one, try to get a sense of humour at the same time......

While I was looking for my sense of humour
I realised actually what he said isn't remotely funny or acceptable or even tolerable, it's sick.

As for getting a life I will, starting I think by leaving this forum. Bye.

That was totally irrelevant and un-necessary

Genius!

Why does it matter what he says? It's his opinion. That's all. And it's absolutely clear that he's using hyperbolic language to make his point. 'Taken out and shot' is basically a strong euphemism to say, they should go home and quit whinging!

All this Health and Safety and Political Correctness stuff does my nut in.

I'd like to see the bosses of most unions sacked if JC goes.

He's a knob

He USED to be funny but now he's a parody, too scripted and sensationalist.
I've got no issue with what he said, but he didnt continue his comments once the appologies had been uttered on his behalf like someone who had any scruples would.
The BBC pay his invoices too.

Come on! Take it easy, mate.

I think you will find its NOT his opinion at all.. Do you not watch much telly? :)

I'm not sure if I'm picking you up correctly, but assuming he was serious, it would be his opinion.

Anyway, to answer your question, 'no', I actually don't own a TV or watch TV.

Thats the point being made. Some people think Clarkson's "opinions" are all scripted to get the biggest laugh or the most press coverage.

I'm not in that group - I just let huim get on with it and normally laugh at the results. I do think he's a very funny guy, scripted or not.

I think it's obvious by now that he wasn't

And if you read my initial post in full, you would know that I continued on to say,

"...And it's absolutely clear that he's using hyperbolic language to make his point. 'Taken out and shot' is basically a strong euphemism to say, they should go home and quit whinging!"

Talk about Clarkson being taken out of context! :bonk:

And I said I was pretty sure he wasn't serious so reading your initial post in full doesn't really change that.

Clarkson replies .......

Of course it was a stupid thing to say...... We all know the government doesn't have the money to spend on bullets at the moment. :D
