For a laugh I entered the Canon gallery best of 2011 and I've made the last thirty!

Got into water drop photography after joining TP. Big thanks to Steve (Splog) and Ash (Ashmashmash) for all the advice:)

Thanks guys! The old mojo had gone walk about recently and this is a nice kick up the backside to start doing more droplet stuff!

Steve mate, still blame you for the addiction!

Marc, food dyed water plus rinse aid dropped into base water in a 16" paintroller tray. Used a CameraAxe set up for the timing. Took too long manually, although I've great results that way too.
Equipment: 50D; 100mm f2.8; 2 x 550ex (gelled, shot though velum paper diffuser from rear @ 1/64); CameraAxe
Settings: iso200 f22 1sec (in dark room)

Josh - not too long, I think it was the best of about 30 images. A word of warning though, I must have made and deleted 1000's of shots to get this far and still have loads to learn. Good fun though!
 
Congratulations on the last 30 !...Its a great image. You must have the patience of a saint...
 
You must have been well pleased, it's a cracking example of that type of shot.
 
I take my hat off to you on what is a superb effort! Love the clarity and colour of it all. Well deserved of it's place. :thumbs:
