No
wandering around inside my screen! seriously!
I though I was seeing dots before my eyes whilst looking at the images but NO! there is a freekin' bug walking around my flat screen under the first layer :bang:
I guess I could soak the screen in insecticide that'll kill the b'stard
I guess I could cut a small hole in the screen and hope that it crawls out
Still, hopefully, there won't be a lot of food in there for it and it will just pass away peacefully :baby:

That is just weird

Maybe try doing one of those screen pattern tests for your video card - that ought to scare it off...

Thunderbugs tbh

Yep, got a couple in one of my monitors at work and in a couple of pictures hanging on the wall here at home.

Lets just hope it doesnt die in the middle of your screen...Seriously

Pain in the arse for flat panels, these little bugs are. Theyre atracted to the light, get in, and can't get out again.

Yeah I am sure its one of the generic "thunder bugs"
at the moment it seems quite content wandering around at "3 oclock"
This is the first time I have experianced ( or heard of) this problem
but its seems then that I am not alone after all
B'stard thing :D

Call a pest control company and watch them try to figure it out.... :D

Press really hard on your screen next time you see it and you`ll crush it to death ,leaving a simple stationary stain...............:geek:

Blasted thrips.

Call it Pixel and say it's dead.

Maybe it's a monitor lizard....

:coat::lol:

Probably what we call a corn fly in this area, tiny little blighters that suddenly appear in warm weather and can be easily seen on the windows. As mentioned they get behind the glass on wall pictures and I have also have one behind an old laptop of mine and once had one stuck in the viewfinder of a 35mm SLR.

Yep we have one of those in one of our screens.. been there for about 6 years.. I would imagine it isn't just hibernating

Is that what we call Midges around here.?

Now we all have one :)

Nah midges are different.. :D these really black and thin bodied and mostly seen crawling rather than flying. Whereas midges are usually flying round your face.

Corn lice is what I call them :) but that is just one of the terms for their proper name.. "Thrips"

As noted above, call Pest Control! :D

Good plan guys but I don't know any decent ones that the problem

Yep I know them as thrips / psocids as well "Midges" tend to be a generic name for airbourne bugs that bite bite

I've had great success with a Hoover

and it got rid of the thunder flies from my TFT

;)

:naughty::naughty: How did you get it through the screen?

On a serious non nudge-nudge note :'(

If you cover the rear vents on the monitor except the ones above/below the bug then hold a hoover nozzle against the vents it sucks the little beggars out.

Sorted two screens so far :)

*Note : DO NOT SQUISH THEM, THEY'LL NEVER COME OUT

I've got a thunder bug somewhere behind the focus screen in my D300 at the moment.

It appeared when I first put my 18-55 F2.8 onto the camera out of the box and my first thought was what the **** is wrong with the lens.

Then a lens swap showed it was in camera.

It's vanished off the screen now so at least I no longer have a monster obscuring my view,

Just call it the moving dead pixel, computer geeks will flock from miles around to see it :p

Perhaps you could change the mouse cursor into a picture of a bug of the opposite sex. Think of the fun you could have watching it chase your cursor around the screen! :D

Thanks Flash that is the most sensible answer so far
( well it kept me amused for ages anyway :D)

Thanks Mr G
I will try that  but all seems quiet on the western front at the moment It seems to have gone AWOL :(

My first SLR had a bug crawl into the screen and die. It is STILL there some years later! Scares the **** out of people when they look into it.

Until it reappears or settles on your sensor screen
