Got a call this evening to say that i've won 1st prize in another photo competition I entered. This time it was the Burton Photographic Society open competition with the image below. I really cant believe it, thats 2 in a week. I'm beginning to think I should buy a lottery ticket at the weekend.

A note to anyone who has never entered a photo competition before is "Do it". You never know your luck.

Well done - and very nice image too

Well done and wow, love the picture. Looks like a painting :)

Hi,

Congratulations. I went to see the exhibition in Stretton yesterday, and I felt that your picture was even better in real life than on here. Didn't really do it justice, I felt.

Really lovely picture.

I shall be joining Burton Photographic Society as I am hoping to rekindle my enthusiasm of many years ago for photography.

Best wishes,

White

Thank you very much. I was rather pleased with how the print came out, I had one done in canvas earlier in the year and the first person who came round to my house and saw it convinced me to sell it to them lol. I am hoping to join myself as they seem like a really nice bunch of people. Hopefully see you at a meeting there sometime in the near future.

A very well deserved win, congrats! Care to share a bit more info about the photo?

Thanks for your comments. The image was of a boat called 'The Good Hope' at Skippool Creek on the Wyre Estuary in Lancashire shot on Christmas day 2010.

The shot was a 12 exposure HDR image taken on my old Canon EOS D60 and a 28-80mm Canon EF lens. ISO100, f5.6, exposure ranged from 1/60sec to 1/1000sec over the 12 shots.

Cheers
