... a moment of weakness, I bought the 7D.:D

I think it will be exactly what I need as doing a lot of animal photography and BOP and dog and Horse racing etc..

I will most likely have lots of questions too..:D

Nice

Look forward to hearing what you think of it...

Could you do us a Review for the TP section? Preddy please? :)

Nice choice! I sooo want one :p

Thanks all, I must admit I find it quite exciting, but scary too, I love my 40D and am "comfortable" with it, so this will be a new learning curve.

Ill do my best with a review too.

Lucky you!! I'm jealous........I constantly have to talk myself out of getting one ;)

Thats good to hear nigpd, the sort of stuff I like to shoot. :)

I went from a 40D to a 7D as well and I've never regretted it, my credit card still does though!!

If you think you need an expensive camera to get good images your highly wrong.

You did it then ;), you will love it, they are great cameras :D

Congrats Dawn, its a great camera. So much to learn but fun doing so. Use mine for wild life and love it , think my wife is jealous, it gets more attention :D

Is the improvement really noticeable by changing from 40D to 7D for wildlife and sports photography, to justify the change and hit on the credit card?

I haven't made the move from the 40D.. I'm not convinced the differences justify me shelling out for the 7D, but am willing to be proved wrong...

I'll be interested to hear your experiences of the 7D, as compared with the 40D, to help inform me for the near future..

Thank you,

Dom

I'm in the same boat, other than the video side of things, is it that much of an upgrade from a 40D (extra pixels etc)? I would offset the cost somewhat by selling my 40D so it is very tempting.

Thanks :D

Thanks Dom. I do a lot of animal stuff and more racing now too. Im hoping the movies will be a big plus, as I think clients will appreciate a decent quality video rather than the usual phone and compact ones. Im certainly looking forward to trying anyway.

Ive kept my 40d as a back up, I love the camera, but I do feel the 7D will be better for what I do now.

Hi
Did you buy the 7D from the supplier you mentioned in another thread? If so, could you let us know how your purchase went as I am thinking of going down the same route.
All the best

I cancelled my order with them today. They promised delivery and never showed, then I couldnt get in touch with them, and they said eventually they would help "if possible." Ordered from elsewhere.

Hi Dawn
Sorry to hear of your disappointment. I had been a bit cautious in view of the variable feedback they had received. Hope you do OK with your new order.

Thanks, its arrived no problems. :)
