if you lived in a 'proper' farm cottage you would have a cold larder room off the kitchen - like what I do....:lol:
 
Lard. Big fat glob spread on half an inch thick, then a layer of pork dripping, with some chocolate spread on top then some peanut butter on top of that. Washed down with a Diet Coke.

Stopped buying that brand as it always seemed a bit 'rancid'.......

In France we were using butter with sea-salt - very creamy and crunchy. One of your 5 a day butter should be:lol:

I used to love dripping on toast when I was younger - my mum used to keep it in a mug, then when none was there I saw a pack of lard (cookeen) then spread that all over it...

I wondered why it didn't have the same taste when she told me it was cooking fat :$

anchor says nz on the side so i'll look for a british brand next week, my dd used to buy country life which i think is british.

just had another 2 rounds, im have a love toast day

Me too! I even put President unsalted *in* the bread. ;) Homemade fresh bread, toasted + President unsalted + Marmite = Bliss!

For once Joe - you speak the truth ;)

We tend to have Clover but for some reason the other day we had some spread that was plain awful.

There was however a packet of butter and I used it on my toast and Oh WOW :clap:

I said the very same thing to Karen - I rarely have toast but it's a little luxury i'll be sticking to from now on when I do.
 
Butter > Margarine

Also, peanut butter and cheese sandwich = tasty.
 
KerryGold is Irish I think. I think they have a packing or production plant in Leek, Staffs.

I usually keep an eye out for offers on Jersey butter. Can work out cheaper than the own brand standard butter block.

i live in leek!! That wouldn't travel far then, might have to look for that!

EDIT: you're right, I could walk to that plant in less than 10 minutes. I bet it goes from there to some central place in london or somewhere to then come back to the supermarket in leek though! ha ha

Thanks to this thread, rather that my usual shreddies, I had toasted tiger loaf with lurpak on. Yum! (looks like I am going to get fatter too!)
 
It should be illegal to have any thing other than butter on toast :lol: tho' I do try to keep toast for a weekend special to compensate.
