Itv cut tim minchin song

So disappointed in ITV. I was at the Uncaged Monkeys show last week at Hammersmith, and Tim performed it there so I was already familiar with the song when I read about this earlier - honestly, I don't really see how the song can be considered offensive, so I was really surprised and a bit appalled by the news. The lyrics don't ridicule or make a mockery of anyone.

And at any rate, if people choose to believe in weird mythology from the Levant in this day and age, then they really can't expect everyone to take it seriously. As usual, YouTube comments and comments posted below an article about it on (ugh) The Telegraph make me want to leave this planet.

I don't think this was a case of the PC brigade either. I think it's far more likely that the decision to cut it was made by someone religious who didn't like it.

TM was David Tennant's choice on Desert Island Discs, just now.

there are clips of it available - the song had already cleared ITV's Compliance department as something that wouldn't get this into trouble, the bigger issue was apparently Jonathan Ross saying to him afterwards "you've got big balls to sing that at Christmas"

Great song. Wouldn't have seen it had it not been cut!
