I have my iTunes set up on my non-work PC and am trying to synch all of the music onto my iPhone. For some reason when I connect my iPhone it stops synching and locks up the screen on my PC and fails to synch or indeed backup my iPhone. Ctrl & Alt & Delete not sorting it out and the screen remains locked up.

Any ideas why this may be happening? iTunes is the most recent version and my iPhone 5 is also up to date. What is frustrating is that it has taken music off the iPhone that was already on there and now I cannot get it back on.

The other issue I am struggling with is how do I move all my music off one PC onto another after an upgrade? If anyone has any ideas, remember that I am not the most technical of people :)

Been using iTunes for many years with no problem until this

Any help appreciated.

Chris :)

Is it a different USB socket to the one originally installed on? I had a problem a while back that would lock the machine up if you used a different socket for some odd reason.

There's an actually quite useful document on the apple support pages for moving between machines.

Thanks Neil. I have tried a few different USB sockets with the same result unfortunately. It is not having it at all.

It is also locking up when I try to copy all my music (iTunes folder) to an external drive (tried a few) to put on another PC. It is a nightmare as I have over 30gb of music and can't do anything with it!
