I wanted to listen to some iTunes podcasts but PC here ;)

I found there is ITunes for PC, anyone using it aok? I have W7Pro 64bit

TIA for any insights

I am using it on my PC because some fool bought me an apple mp3 player it works but I hate it myself.
I do not download music I prefer to own a copy of the music not have it on long term loan.

When I next purchase an mp3 player it will not be an apple it will something better.

I've got a Mac and I've got a PC. I've got iTunes on both and do not note any difference. I've never bought music from the Apple Music store in my life. It is not necessary at all, I just don't get where people get these myths from. My sources are from ripping my own CDs or from downloads from sound cloud, or from the MP3 that Amazon gives you when you buy a CD. It all works perfectly within iTunes with great logical organisation.

Then from iTunes I synchronise my music with my iPhone, my Google Nexus 7, my Mercedes and my Audi, my daughter to her Wileyfox. And when I had active smart headrests in a previous car they even synced with the videos through there when my car was parked in our garage.

Cracking bit of software, works well on either system. I would love a Linux version.

Can't abide itunes, don't think I have ever disliked a piece of software more. I find it clunky, slow, counter intuitive and determined to do what it wants not what I want. Just my 2p :/

Try Hermespod for podcast management or PodTrans for just transferring files to i-devices in windows.

I've used it on PC previously and no major issue - only thing I found on occasions it wouldn't do the auto update, so I had to do a manual re-install, but nothing lost and not really an issue

I know there is a bit of hate for iTunes, but I've found it to be perfectly usable on both PC and Mac. If anything it's ease of use is swaying me towards getting an iPhone next after having Android since they were first introduced.

Thanks for the insight, as mentioned to me is for podcasts only available on the iTunes platform.

Once downloaded is it possible to save them in a format for listening to on an Android phone?

Works fine on Win7 for me.

Format Factory or Handbrake will probably do the conversion.

they're saved in MP3 within Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Podcasts on your computer.

and/or use iSyncr with rocket player for android.
