i think it may be coming to the time where i have to bow out and leave the forum... not that i want to but because of my phobia it is getting harder for me to click and look... for those that know me i hope you understand. i have tried and tried to get over it and have even sought medical help with it but nothing has worked.... i'll keep trying but it is just getting harder with the new site.
 
The photo's on the front page.. i know it sounds daft but when a certain subject is posted i have to have help changing the page so i can't see said subject... i know it is stupid but there you go.
 
You could always get an ipad, I just tried to look at the front page but it seems it's not available via the app
 
Darren your right i have taken to using my tablet to look on here.. it is stupid i know and i should be able to cope with it but alas it is not always that easy also viewing others work is not always that good on a tablet.
 
I'm guessing the problem is "elongated reptiles".

I know of people who have very negative reactions to even small images of said legless vertebrates.
 
Just save http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/ as a bookmark, and use that, then you will never see the front page.... just the list of forums. I don't think I've ever seven seen the front page.
 
You could bookmark the direct URL for the forum, which then avoids having to see the front page at all.

FWIW I've never seen the front page, I have no clue what's on it as I always enter via the aforementioned URL.

i've only ever seen the front page when i've googled for the site from work, & even then you can just bypass it by clicking the link with the word forum in it :)
 
thanks guys very helpful advice there i'll just have to be more careful and avoid that page then.. as i said i know it is stupid but i can't help how those things make me feel.
 
I never use the front page. Just the new posts link. Stick with that :)

I just want to say that you're the only one saying "it's stupid", so hopefully you're alone in that thought. Howsabout saying "irrational" in the future?

Anyway, I'm glad you're now using an alternative way into the forum and I hope you continue to enjoy reading and participating, and only fear the mind-numbingly 'stupid' things that can occasionally be posted in here. :)

You think this is stupid? Have you seen some of the things people post in the Out of Focus section? Now that's stupid :lol:

Glad the good people of TP have found an efficient quick fix for you :)
 
in all the time I have been using TP I have only seen the front page once... this thread just seems bonkers to me.. not because of the problem the OP has ...but because he couldnt see such a simple solution...

I couldnt.. still can't ...how do you know? However your right.. now you explain the OP is a SHE then its obvious why the confusion of what to do haha :)

My Name is really Teresa but there were too many of us growing up so mine got changed to Terri..
