oh dear we seem to be getting a heavy downpour of the stuff and all the main roads here are very slow going due to the thick blanket we are getting now

Hissing down with rain as I type!

I see what you did there Chris

Keep it up! We need to spread the love! (and smiles)

Snowing and settling in Doncaster, as much as I love it I've had enough this year.

 Keeps the morale up when people are in the snow!

Moi?!

Think you may mean my illustrious colleague Messieur Chris De Hiss.

After coming across this thread, I think it's time for me to issue a fresh warning of further snow and cold for next week.
I've just caught up on the computer outlook charts now that I'm at home . . . all I can say is . . . blimey, that looks severe.
And it's aimed straight for the South East. If that does come off by this time next week, that'll make the last cold snap seem like a bit of a chilly breeze.
The St Valentine's Freeze Up I've been forecasting for quite a while is just about nailed on.
Bear in mind that the North Sea will be a lot colder than this time a month ago - and the strengthening sun will then serve to produce much more in the way of convective "power" snow showers . Those may bubble up and rattle into the eastern side of the UK.
Of course, it's still alllllll a long way off - won't get to see the first signs of it until after the weekend, but it's definitely one to keep an eye on.

Thanks for the heads up Ian
Batten down the hatches then I guess :D
