Can you tell I'm excited?

Finished the last album from 2009 today and my new website means I can proof the album online. Going to pop round to see the couple on Sunday to finalise the layout and then I can send the order off. Essentially though I have the decks clear for the new kit arriving and I'm going to be like a 5 year old at Christmas, on the floor surrounded by boxes!

Now all I need to do is convince my other half that when it arrives it really is in his interests to get the battery on charge before I get in from work. :bat:

:D:D:D

Hope you get on well with the new and post up lots of photos of both your new kit and also some sample shots you take with it :D

I bet you can't wait ... Looks like OH is gonna be a distant second for a while to all your golden boxes !!!

Ali you lucky wotsit! I bet you can't sleep!

The D700 is almost enough to make me turn to the darkside - the ISO handling of a D3 for a fraction of the price.

I - WANT - ONE - NOW! (but that can fit Canon lenses please)

You want to try the Nikon glass as well ;) :p

Nice one Ali, I think you're going to enjoy it :)

 Yv.

Alas I cannot. Unless someone fancies a switch to Canon :suspect:

Oh yes you can :)

I'm going to be selling all my Canon gear to fund it :)

What you gone and done Yv?

Come on woman.....spill! :D

 She has been very very Norty!

Nice on Yv!

Ahhhh and relax.... the D700 is clearly a girls camera.... I want one no longer...

(I will keep telling myself that!)

lol goes of to track Yv to find out what she's been up to.

Girlies camera indeed! :)

Aha!!

That did not take long to uncover Yv's dastardly deed.

Nice one dear lady :)

Thankyou muchly. This will be my 4th Nikon dslr and this time I dont have to sell the last one to fund this one. I can't wait to hear your reports Ali and see some pictures, I have a good idea of what to expect in terms of handling etc, so just IQ will be the big thing for me, but will be interesting to see how you get on with the big swap.

The first hurdle is getting the lens on..........it's the wrong way round! :)

With a competence level like that I hope you are not expecting much! lol

 Classic Ali!

And they are on the wrong way round.

You do know aswell that whenever you use a Nikon you must have one trouser leg up?

Great.

Been offline reading your thread and personally, forgetting everything else, in my opinion the one thing you will note is that suddenly, your kit gets you pictures that you did not get before. Wide aperture stuff, bang on. Jobs a good un'. Enjoy.

that took me ages to work out

 Hey Pete, glad to see you about :)

That's my kind of photography and I bought the 50mm f1.4 for just that. My big fear is that it is addictive and I get drawn into 35 and 85mm primes and a big hole in the finances ;)

Still alive - just not shooting. Turned down £100.00 + VAT this evening on a local 1 hour job but likely get some stuff over the summer I think. Been supporting my GF as her Dad is battling testicular cancer and is something like 7 sessions into 18 consecutive days of Radiotherapy and before that Chemo. Been a tricky time but hope all will be ok. Emotional is the word....

Glad your excited by your new kit. Oh and that new Nikon prime is (will be sensational). Start saving.

LOL. Well if you're up for it Ali...:p

 Don't think you need to apologise! If I could get an 85mm and a D700 I probably would!

Who are you kidding Matt,

you'd be bending over :whistling:

And as for the esteemed Mr CT, well of course I'd love to but I'm going to have to arrange a health and safety assessment in this cold weather...

in case I have someones eye out! :D

One D700, 2 SB900's and a 70-200 tomorrow. I already have the 14-24 snug in a box at home and the other D700 with the 24-70 either Saturday (if RMSD do it) or Monday when I will be arranging to work at home ;) (I will actually have a report to produce but if I get up early it should give me some scope to play:))

A Month With the Lumix GF1, And Why I No Longer Use The Nikon D700

Only kidding enjoy your purchase

So you've done it Ali and gone over to the Dark side!!!!! I would be really interested to hear your thoughts after changing systems - I had a few problems with my kit at the weekend, most notably problem focusing in low light during the first dance - it just wasn't quick enough!!!!

Look forward to your comments
