I finally made a website, it's my first attempt so be kind or :bat: No music no flash in fact just a straightforward plain website.
C&C welcome. This is very new and still needs filling and tweaking. More Albums will be uploaded soon.

Here it is : My New Site

Thanks Alby.

Looks great Alby nice and simple ( the way I like them ) Loads fast I get bored if they take too long and move on
A couple of points
there is a lot of wated space under the home page
the links are not available on the gallery page
( if you can't add them here, how about making that page open "in a new window"?)
Great site

On the front page I would have "Photography of UK Insect Life" or "UK Insect Photography" and not "Insect Photography of UK Insectlife"

Thanks Folks all your comments have been noted and I will get round to sorting them out. Thanks ;)

Have you also explored Gallery 2 and Coppermine?
The reason I ask is that the design of parts of the website aren't quite as homogenous as they could be.
Perhaps Drupal with some kind of a gallery module could do the trick too.

I'm going to have another website myself later this month.
This is the WIP:

Thanks for the gallery names Slapo. I shall go and investigate. This is all very new to me so I don't really know quite what I'm doing still

Fantastic site, nice count on hits as well,
Those shots are great...is that suffering for your art having the mosquito feed on you for the shot or was it a lab tech??

Thanks James, the mossie was biting me as I sat down by my pond which is where I find most of my insects. What we do for art.

Hi Alby, Just looked at your site and I must say that it is really nice. I love your colour scheme and your photos look outstanding.

I don't mind guest books but they do tend to put people off if email address is mandatory.

I just type in rubbish for email entries  Thanks for looking
Can't stand the creepy crawly things, but an excellent site. Easy on the eye (Apart from the bugs!) and simple to navigate.

Thanks Fabs, I'm still playing with it so I guess it will change from day to day and sorry the creepy crawlies will grow

Hi Alby, Why don't you just set up the email field as a non required field, then guests can decide whether or not they want to put email address in. Saves them having to put rubbish in.

It's hosted on another site and I don't think you can, I'll have a look to see or if not I suppose I could try and find another guestbook. Any ideas let me know.

You may be able to edit the script. You would need to view the script in a text editor or HTML editor. In the beginning section you will have a line similar to this
<input type="hidden" name = "required" value="email">
Anything which follows value= must be input by guest
so by removing email, the email address is no longer mandatory. Remember to save a copy before editing in case of problems.

Hope this helps.
