OK If something is Minty its a bit grubby and not 100% in good order

If its Mint then is in great condition, worthy of your hard earned


Who ever thought Minty described an item as MINT is a pillock.


NO NO NO Minty fresh describes the quality of your breath after brushing your teeth or rinsing with mouthwash or some other oral cleansing ritual you may have deployed.

Have you sold something to someone, trying to make out it was in better condition than it really was by using the word 'minty'? In the context of kit, rather than toothpaste, if I saw that word in the description then I would expect it to be just a step away from like new - it is misleading to use the word if the item is actually dirty and not in 100% in good order.

If you're just grumbling about the use of the word in ebay adverts then I'd agree it's annoying.

Not grumbling about anything, just thought I would get a view on the description and their respective meanings to other people.:thinking:
 
Thought it was just me that disliked the term minty, always puts me in mind of a little prat tear arsing around in a s***ty car with a great big exhaust.

nope, it pretty much means mint, I don't think anyone would expect something to be grubby and not in 100% good order after it being described as minty.
however, in my experience, some people have an odd understanding of "minty" that is subject to change depending on which side of the deal their on.
 
Mint or Minty has only ever meant near perfect condition.
 
I never realised there could be debate on this, I've always read mint and minty as meaning the same. If I see minty I just think someone's getting over chatty in their descriptions.

Will be more careful with any purchases from now on!

That's what it should mean but in my experience in buying comics, books and various other things I am willing to accept it is in near perfect condition as I would always find a small fault.
