hiya !

got a prob here !

bought a canon dslr plus lens etc some 2 weeks ago I think. but there is no camera and no comms with the seller. the ebay advises to wait until 13th of november or so to raise a dispute. but it seems so far away knowing that I paid for it 27th of october or so + although he has 100% some of his feedback is bad, describing the same problem basically.

does the deal cancellation work or what should I do ?

thanks,
D.

If you paid by Paypal raise a claim immediately. Don't wait to jump through all of the hoops, just open a case and escalate it straight away, that'll get the seller's attention ;)

Yes, make sure you raise a case before the paypal time limitation expires.
They may 'protect' you, but there is a limit on how long for. My wife lost out that way, as she was fobbed off by a seller, and then couldn't claim back.

The item is on its way. Please allow enough time for the seller to process and dispatch your item. If you still haven't received the item by 13 Nov, 2010, please contact us. You can also try contacting the seller.

I guess I need to wait. how can ebay know that it's on it's way ? :cuckoo: . or is it just a saying.

Nonsense, raise a Paypal dispute right now. As soon as you have opened the case, click on the link to escalate it to a claim. That freezes the funds in the seller's Paypal account and it's amazing how quickly they suddenly get in touch if you do that....

Agree, raise a Paypal dispute as soon as possible - you will still have to wait a stupid time while they give the seller time to cut and run but at least you have some chance of seeing your money again.

I copied the text from ebay, not from seller or anything.
I don't know how to raise a dispute that goes around this. paypal redirects me back to the same ebay page that says this - that I need to wait until 13th of november.

Try getting the sellers details using the advanced search. A phone call now and his response can put your mind at rest. As you paid via PayPal you should get your cash back anyway. His feedback must be fairly high as if not the funds would not be released through PayPal until you leave him a pos+ feedback.

damn !

Maybe he's an old chap + because he has 28 feedback, is scared to post the item (the usual PP not giving money until buyer receives item blah blah )! :|

I hope I'll get a hold of him somehow.

Go to Paypal and click on 'Resolution Centre' to lodge the complaint, you might have to wait 24 hours to escalate it to a claim.

anything I do it gets back to blah, blah, blah wait till 13th of november.

I wrote a very human message to him explaining everything in case he just doesn't understand what's going on etc.

Claim probably already lodged then - if that's the case you just get told that they are waiting for him to respond and if he doesn't respond by xxxxxx then they will review the case.

Are you clicking on the

"Need help? If you have problems with an eBay transaction or want help resolving a dispute with an eBay seller, go to the eBay Resolution Centre. PayPal and eBay strongly recommend that you attempt to resolve issues directly with the seller whenever possible."

Link (at the bottom of the transaction page) ?

Of course I am, I'm an old chap!

oh ! common ! I didn't mean it that way !

I just had this image of a guy who's so old that he doesn't know what to do.

I need to be angry at somebody ! :| :D

that money was all I had ! :|

I bet you do similar stuff as well ! :p

I could only send a message to costumer support ! :(

I've done some movements today and will sleep on them to see if there is any response or actions.

thank you for you help everyone !

There may be genuine reasons that you haven't received your purchase, the seller could be on holiday or sick. What is the sellers feedback score and rating? This is usually a good indicator of a sellers trustworthiness.
I hope you paid by credit card!

You need to raise a dispute through the Resolution Centre on Paypal - the link is on the toolbar between History and Profile....

it seems that I will get the money back if all goes south. feedback is 28 and 100% although he's had some problems as a seller.

I have the reason now why I can't yet raise a dispute -

he has put the estimated delivery over the typical days. so until the date comes I can't do a lot.

He may have marked it as despatched his end. Just keep sending him 'Where is my items' messages, as eBay will then see that you've been trying to contact the seller.

but if he marks it as despatched, shouldn't it show in my ebay as despatched as well ?

This 'old guy' is playing with you. :D

You obviously have doubts or you wouldn't have posted this thread, therefore raise a dispute as advised, sooner the better.

no makes fun of me ! :(

No No No No !!!

p.s. I have a record of making a thread about anything that happens to me in ebay ! :D

Go straight to Paypal OR ring the customer support number in ebay (not available to everyone mind). Dont faff around with the ebay claim.

Unless they have changed it recently, you can file a paypal claim straight away. I found Ebay customer service hotline to be excelent. On more than one occasion a 10 minute phonecall resulted in all my money refunded in full within miniumum hassle and no faffing around with giving the seller loads of time to scarper with your money.

Did you try to get his details from the advanced search and phone him up? There may be a genuine reason why he hasn't posted out the item.

On the item page how long does he quote for delivery? I see that eight days now is not uncommon. (too many buyers complaining to eBay far too early I guess).

Don't forget he is not as efficient as an online shop. He may only go to the post office once a week  Can we have a link to the sale thread?

I personally wouldn't buy from any seller who has 28 feedback and one of them is negative.

You can show that the item has been posted in Ebay, but it doesn't actually say anything.

I take it you've either got the camera or you've launched a complaint. If you did by paypal, you're covered for £500 (well it might be more now, not sure).

In this way I've got my money back in the past, so good experience with that. Anyway, I hope you get/have your gear ;)

yeah ! got the stuff, now I have different problems. well, but then again - I buy a lot and sell a lot.

so if you want to feel updated feel free to look at my other thread called - ebay :D
