Yes
Vegemite that is.... just not the same as Marmite!

Run out of Marmite and had some Vegemite in the cupboard which came in a Christmas Hamper (last year) from a Telecomms vendor we use

Have you tasted the uber strong one?
Woah !!

I love marmite and twiglets !

not sure about the cashews to be honest they sometimes seem to taste soggy

I don't think I've noticed soggyness but it may be because I suck all the flavour off lol

Love Marmite
Hate twiglets

Cashews are best consumed on their own, but accompanied with a glass of Pernod
same goes for pistachio's (y)

If its all the same to you Paul, I'll take a rain check  .....

:D

p***ing it down here in Greenock but it is Scotland

I thought it was only me and my daughter that liked Marmite and crumpets.:)
Better than on toast, ( and that's not too shabby either)

Bovril on toast is better :p
I thought that was for old ladies to make drinks out of? :p

Can't say I've ever drunk it or spread it on anything

Too salty, reminds me of eating an OXO cube, as a youngster of course :)

Speaking of drinks. Anyone made a drink from hot water and Marmite with a bit of Scotch Bonnet pepper added? Really like it if I've got a bug and feeling a bit achy and shivery.

Dave

Ah yes I can remember sucking oxo cubes WTF?

We did some strange things as yung'uns :D
Like eating bread and dripping with plenty of salt :) ( A special treat was the "jelly" at the bottom of the basin)
And banana and sugar sarnies...

Isn't that what coffee and Brandy is for?
Oops 'cuse me, main ingredient first...
Brandy and coffee :D

I remember my step Nan making some kind of onion broth for that. By Christ!
I'm sure that would have killed the bubonic plague too!
Unfortunately she passed away some years ago without passing on that secret though.

Always knew you were odd, bananas just shouldn't be eaten in sarnies o_O

I grew out of that years ago.
I'm still odd though ( before you say it :p )

Growing up as a hungry kid over 40 years ago, anything edible in the kitchen is edible :)

Just a light smear on hot (real) buttered toast.

I still eat raw potatoes :)
( peeled of course, and not the new ones either)

No green parts I hope.
Solanine poisoning ain't nice. :puke:

Even better is a banana & sugar puff butty. ;)
And that proves the old adage , you don't have to be mad to be a mod, but it certainly helps :p
