As you all know I'm now the proud owner of a Nikon D300 and have recently purchased from Lukewoodford an 18-200vr lens for it.

My present camera bag is a Lowepro Commercial and when fully loaded weighs an absolute tonne!

I'm in the market for a new a camera bag (can't stand rucksacks!) which needs to carry the following:

Nikon D300 with 18-200 attached
Nikon SB-600 flashgun
JVC hd camcorder
plus one other lens probably Sigma 10-20 wide angle
possibly tripod attached

The above is the most likely equipment I would take on one of my visits to a steam railway. This might alter when visiting non railway places.

I don't mind what the cost is.

I use a Domke F2 shoulder bag, and it's great for lugging your kit around all day.

The strap doesn't slip off your shoulder and the soft bag moulds to your hip/back meaning a comfortable journey every time.

You'd probably need to buy the additional 2 pocket insert to replace the standard 4 pocket to be able to stow the camera with the 200 attached, but there would be plenty of room for the kit you list.

The only downside (of sorts) is that the bag isn't waterproof, but that is easily rectified with a quick spray of a waterproofing solvent.

or perhaps check out redsnapper? i know marcel recently done a review on one of there bags.

The Redsnapper SY618, it's a classic.

Thanks for replies so far, keep them coming! Yes it must be a shoulder bag!

FStop Bard or if you think you need more room FStop Maverick. I have the Bard and it is fine for body + 17-40, with space for 50mm, 70-200 f2.8 (not a small lens) and a flash gun and a laptop in the laptop sleeve.

I would check out the Redsnapper bags very closely. They got a good review here and the kit is top notch. Plus, no brand label to give away the fact you are toting thousands of pounds of camera gear over your shoulder.
