Thanks to Ian (Kerso) and Marc (chump1979) I am now the proud owner of a 40D and a 17-40L (yep, went for that one in the end).

I'd like to thank everyone who commented and advised on my last thread, you're a lovely bunch of people and I'm honoured to be amongst you :)

I feel like a father with a new baby. My God, she's beautiful :love:

I have a friend that is planning a 40D. Can I ask how much Ian is charging for these currently?

Very nice combo, so I've heard. Not currently in a position to get either the 17-40 or 16-35 II yet, but have heard both are very good :thumbs:

I don't actually, because I deleted the PM that had his quote. I think it was £530, but I'm not certain. I would imagine he'd need to requote, what with prices going up :(

You will here both good and bad things about this lens, me I love it, Probably my most used at the moment :thumbs:

A good choice me thinks !!!!
 
I've already got the f/1.8, of which I'm a fan, and the f/1.4 was offered to me at a price I couldn't refuse. I've used one before on a 40D and loved it, although the affair was brief.

Roll on the club photography :D
