No idea how it compares to the Canon, but compared with the nikon version it is half the price. It doesn't have VR but I'm not fussed about VR to be honest, especially not if it will cost twice as much to get the VR.

nah, its not a true macro, think they say macro as it's meant to be a short focusing distance.
 
will be interested to see the results u get from the 70-200 and the teleconvertor :)

i liked mine, wish i kept it now though :lol:

also need a 2x TC to try out, one day i will complete everythig lol
