It'll feel like summer then!

We had a high of 2 degrees yesterday and it felt warm!

i was just thinking about that 5 degrees.... might break out in just a t-shirt :shake: lieeesss

when has the hot weather EVER come to Glasgow

Yay, thank goodness for that - I can't wait for a bit of Sun!! x

Us lot in Northern Ireland have unusually been the warmest in the UK lately and next week too. Double figures over here

all 8 degrees will mean is it'll rain, I prefer -5 and bright sunshine to 8 degrees and rain :(

Agree with that........

only if theres no wind chill :D

It is quite wet, but at least we can move without sliding around all over the place. I would prefer sunshine and a breeze to dry out all the mud but somehow I doubt it will be forthcoming

Notice how quiet I become whenever the weather become less noteworthy. :D

In this case as far as this week is concerned, I think the words I'm looking for are "less cold and cloudy". Oh, it is going to feel positively balmy compared to what it has been like in the past six weeks, but this "mild" weather is being associated with a flabby Atlantic high to the south west of us. Susie's got the right idea as far as this week is concerned.
So, let's add a little bit of detail to all this:
It's the kind of set up that often brings us several days of "anticyclone gloom", it's where a layer of even milder and slightly more humid upper air of Atlantic origin rides over the cool and dry surface air that is still currently sitting over the UK. As a result, it produces a thin layer of stratsocumulus that won't really go anywhere.
So, basically it's going to be a dull and boring cloudy week with very little in the way of wind and rain and even more little in the way of sunshine. At least it will have the effect of keeping the frost at bay but if you really want things to feel very "spring-like" you'd be wanting the sunshine - something that will be very limited this week.
Perhaps, just perhaps a few lucky places towards the south west of the UK may catch a glimpse of the yellow orb once in a while, but this week looks set to be a non-event of a week weather-wise. Kinda almost making me miss the excitement of the past six weeks (where we've all had storms, snow or/and hoar frost).

I've just emailed the BBC news channel cos their latest global warming report is talking about negative feedback being the process involved. It's POSITIVE feedback that leads to runaway conditions, but I suppose the journalists think "No, we want positive feedback for our work, so that can't be the bad guy". Let's see if they've bothered to correct it by 11-ish . . .

Wouldn't be too hard would it?

It's been the hottest February 16th on record since last February 16th, proof that Global Warming is still very much a threat

Mark my words, someone will have a go :D

My chilblains are now settling down :)

They're tucked up in bed now are they ?
^^

If only they were not on my feet :( they can be bloody painful and crippling at times, only one affected area left now and this milder weather will soon see that off.
