First post has to be hello, so hello it is. I popped in to see if I could find a Sigma 150-500 for my Canon DSLR. No joys yet but hopefully I will be able to learn some skills from my peers here.
I took early retirement last year (made redundant...sigh) no hope of a job at my age and being partially disabled does not exactly help, so took the plunge and said 'holly-hocks' to being an employee and retired.
My main passion is Bonsai. I have been enjoying these wonderful trees for thirty years now and frequently had been taking photos over the years. Many with my old SLR, and in latter years with a compact. I started with a Canon compact when they first came out then went to a Sony compact.
A few months ago I decided I really did enjoy photography and so took the plunge with a Canon 500D and some lenses. I am really enjoying the photography although I know I am absolutely pants at it, but still I try.
I went the whole 9 yards and ditched my nine year old PC at the same time as getting the Canon. I went with an Apple i-Mac 21.5" with double dose of RAM and uprated graphics card. Making certain no grass would grow under my feet I purchased Elements 9 with Photo Essentials 3 .
I've thoroughly enjoyed getting into photography, and thus far a real corker of a photograph eludes me, but ... I shall keep on trying.
Anyway, I've driveled on long enough,; I'll send you to sleep with my first post:bonk:
