I was given a Pentax ME by a TP member and bought one role of B&W and one role of colour film to use at a recent TP Majorca meet. Took it to CCimaging in Leeds on Friday to get developed. Due to pick up on Monday. I've flitting between - excitement and fear!

If I have anything decent I'll upload.

Cheers.

Good man Andy, looking forward to seeing the results.

Welcome aboard the good shop emulsion.

My first pictures with film were 6x6 slides, 64T its tungsten w/balanced film, they were beautiful things, just pictures of everyday objects like a jug and some flowers, there was one picture of a beach game coloured balls in a white wire case that really sticks in my mind.

I can't concentrate on what I'm trying to say because this Hockney retrospective on bbc2 keeps dragging me off...lol

Another willing victim joins :)

Cheers, guys.

Just watched the Hockney retrospective...absolutely wonderful, if you haven't been to Salts Mill, it's well worth a visit

I'm expecting mixed results TBH. I used Kenmore 400 ISO first and then used B&W and colour ISO 100...but forgot to change the ISO on my camera to ISO 100. As a new one to film I think my photographs will, as a result, be under exposed

Cheers.

One of my first cameras was a Bencini comet... 1/50 shutter speed and fixed aperture and was grateful if any shot came out :D

I didn't know he'd done Salts Mill until I saw a repro of it in some office block a few weeks ago, even from 30yds and through 5 glass office walls, it was unmistakably Hockney.
About 10 years ago I drove out to Garroby Hill, its on the way to the East coast, Brid or Scarborough way, been up it a hundred times before but I drove there again to shoot it and just see how exaggerated Hockney's painting of it is.
It was disappointingly dull, and that's kindof along the lines of what I was trying to say earlier, the first slides I shot were amazing to me sat there on a light box, later I made some scans and they were like Garroby Hill in real life......disappointingly dull...:)

He has a massive presence at Salts Mill and.....get there! Really, I can spend hours there. Photographs/film/sculptures. Decent cafe/coffee. Decent outdoor cloths shop. Vintage gear shop....oh, my, I've gotta get back there.

(disclaimer...I ain't employed by Salts Mill :))
