UPDATE.........

I posted this on another forum, a guy said he had tried this, but over time the non-slip matting breaks down, he ruined a sports jacket, he said.

He recommended a alternative.........

One arrived yesterday, it's brilliant, good quality, does what it says on the tin....and not expensive.

I got absolutely browned off of every bag I've owned sliding off my shoulder.

Expensive ones, cheap ones, they all did it.

My solution, a piece of 'non-slip' matting from the £ shop and four DIY press studs.

Works a treat, interchangeable to.

Good idea, nice and simple. I get annoyed when I'm at a track and my bag keeps falling off so I usually just take a back pack or resort to setting it on the floor, annoying when you're constantly on the move for the next shot though!

I have the same problem in that any bag ever made slides off my shoulder. I think you should make a batch of these up and sell them in the For Sale section! :D

I had been thinking along the lines of...

I used to work for a company that made, amongst other things, conveyor belt systems and one of the belt materials just seemed to grip any other thing placed upon it. I've seen a similar material offered in small squares to put on car dashboards but all in all Dave's idea looks best.
 
Nice idea. As an alternative, put your head through the strap and wear it across your chest :D
 
Nice one Dave, I always assumed I was round shouldered, so it's nice to know it doesn't only happen to me. I've actually got some of that non-slip stuff which I bought to stop things slipping about in the car boot so I've only got to get some press studs. Brilliant idea, I would never have thought of it.

Am I the only person who wears their bag (and camera) on the opposite shoulders? Is that a photography faux-pas? :shrug:
 
Thanks for that, I need never wear my bag strapped across my shoulders again...
 
It is a good idea however I do not think it is good for my posture wearing a heavy camera bag on my shoulder. I will continue to wear it slung across my opposite shoulder when I take that kind of bag out.
