Hello Everyone,

I have been looking on here and on Ebay at studio equipment and was wondering if someone who knows what they're doing could just spare me a couple minutes to cast their eye over this listing for me?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Studio-li...lash_Lighting_Kits&hash=item19d64ad4d1&_uhb=1

What else would I need to get to go with this to have a studio set up to practice with other than backgrounds?

I am completely new to studio lighting so want this to learn with and it seems like a reasonable investment if I'm going to use it for this purpose. In my opinion anyway.

Thanks in advance :)

SArah,

personally I would say that you should be buying stuff that you will still be able to use if you upgrade and with lighting that is all down to the attachment fit and the most common is the Bowens S which this is not. It is worth paying a bit more for something that will take you further such as one of the Lencarta kits.

I wouldn't. It's probably all okay - apart from the flash units themselves

Lots of threads on start-up kits, but FWIW my advice on a tight budget is to get just one Lancarta Smartflash head, stand, white, silver and shoot-through brollies, and a white/silver reflector.

You can do so much with that, and you'll learn a lot. About £200 at a guess, and that's as cheap as it gets for proper kit. Then add to it as and when.

Was about to suggest a similar setup from Lencarta (smartflash/brolly/stand/reflector). You can do a lot with this and a good simple setup to start with.

<------ The basic shot for my avatar composite was a single light shot.

Hi Mike,

Hope you are well.

Thanks for the advice. Your right, I would want to add to it as I go on and as I learn more. I think I will just go for the Lencarta, so many people have recommended these to me I think I would be a fool not to!

Thank you :)

Yeah I'm just going to stop being so impatient and save for some Lancarta Kit lol!

I'm just really keen to get stuck in to it!!

Thanks for the advice :)

Anyone have ain't to a lencarta starter kit they think is right for starting up? Preferably portable too.

Sorry for hijacking the thread OP!

Sorry for hijacking the thread OP!

I have 3 x elitepro600 with profold softbox, octabox and also a beautydish, 2.7M backdrops, with goal post background support and it's all portable. I think what I'm trying to say is whether you have a basic kit or loads of kits, it can all be portable. Have a look though at the profold softboxes, they are fantastic!

Don't get the cheap stuff, it's rubbish, colour is always off, etc, there is a reason they are so cheap.

How do lencarta compare against interfit? They seem to be doing some decent deals. Sorry about the hijack, but I am in similar position :-)
