Yes
....but not necessarily, and not until January.

The Government announced today that the restriction to only one item of hand luggage per pasenger would be relaxed. Or, rather, that airports will be able to seek permission to relax it. (Will they? Won't they?) That would be good news for people who have a lot of camera gear and don't want to put it in the hold.

Here's the BBC News report.

Remember that airlines can still impose their own restrictions, so always check and double check with your airline before flying.

It's good news but I have to say that, with the right luggage, I have no problem with the current position.

I managed to take 2x1D MkII, 24-70, 70-200, 500, backup harddrives, binoculars, batteries, filters, etc all in hand luggage no problem in September. It is worth noting that BA have no weight restriction, only size on hand luggage.

It might be news to you, grumpy, but some people want to take other stuff onto the plane too! ;)

Seeing as Britain is the ONLY country in the world to have the stupid one hand luggage rule why do we have to wait until January. They brought the rule in over night why not rescind it over night too.
