weekly It is what it is, Sirching for 52/2016 - 52 - Celebrate

I like you game shot a lot - great expressions and the low angle works really well...even if it was to avoid detection! I love the movement in your water shot and the smoothness definitely works well for the theme - the saturation is a bit much for me too, though.

Hmmm! Hi Chris. Beautiful landscape and good compositional thinking behind the shot. I didn't think anything about the saturation until I read some of the comments which means I'm fine with it as is.

Looks like a very nice spot for taking pictures ... I'm wondering what we might get if the cameraman took a couple of paces to his right ... more bridge, no doubt . o_O

Anyway this is a nice compo, nice creamy water but, as stated, a bit over saturated.
More bridge and a barbed wire fence, I guess that could be dealt with in post though, thanks for looking

This.
I like the scene well enough. :)
Thanks for looking

That's er, very surreal Chris.
Was it hdr? (I'm guessing not from the comments)
Not HDR as I said above I was hoping for better light but it was rather dull, thanks Tm

Thanks Carl, it does seem to be a bit marmite, it is probably somewhat monitor (and may be eyeball) dependent

So as usual I had all sorts of ideas for black and white and as usual the weather looks set to spoil them. So here is a B&W shot of a B&W cat, what else was t'internet invented for?

Very nice.
Those are some serious whiskers!

Where is Postman Pat?
:D a mate of mine has a red ex-post office van, I could borrow that for the full effect!

Very nice.
Those are some serious whiskers!
Thanks Ruth

Super photo Chris ....it works perfectly for the theme, love the expression in those eyes.
Thanks Susie

Ah yes, that's a good idea. I have a black cat I could take some pictures of (maybe).
Well captured.
Thanks Tim

I have a black and white cat but never thought of it :banghead: nice sharp pic

Nice pussy Chris :D
Love the reflections in its eyes.

:agree: nice whiskers, nice exposure, would like to see some colour in those eyes tho, we don't have to go 100% B&W.

Caught red-handed  :$ the B&W conversion was more to tone down the background than an over-enthusiastic desire to meet the brief and whilst I could have put more effort into the PP to keep the eye colour and loose the background, well, you know...

Thanks for looking.

Lovely shot Chris - like the glazed sheen in those eyes especially.

Serene - one of the best shots for this theme in my opinion. Nicely composed, slow shutter works to smooth out that water. Spot on.
B&W - again, another good shot. Sharp where it needs to be - always tricky when it comes to cats, the lil buggers never sit still! Only crit would perhaps be to clone out the white flecks (left hand side).

Thanks Matt, that serene shot seems to be a bit like marmite. I agree about the white flecks, as so often happens I didn't notice them until I had uploaded it and well, you know...

Great photo for B&W, very well exposed and sharp.

Chris, the B&W of the cat is great, I can never get our to sit still long enough, mind you they are kittens and wrecking the house !

Thanks Chris, she doesn't sit still long but had just woken up so i got a few minutes.

Very Behind with comments sorry..

Lone - I like the way the clouds and rocks are radiating out from the tree
Fauna - I too prefer the Dragonfly lovely detail
Static - Good positive thinking making the most of a bad situation. I like the way the queue snakes through the picture.
Game - They are clearly engaged with the game and unaware of the camera
Serene - Lovely landscape very calm
Black and White - Great detail I think it would have been good in colour too.

Thanks for taking the time to catch up, I really appreciate it.

So nothing very original for ancient, I spared you all a selfie and nipped up to Kendal Castle which i have never got round to visiting before even though it is only half an hour away, so a bit of photoshoppery to make it oh so artistic ;)

Oooo! I do like the sepia-like quality and the shoppery framing Chris - suits the image really well. That cloudy sky makes a great backdrop for the ruins.

Great composition with the ruin in front of a very dramatic sky. And I like the sepia effect and the frame.

Nice processing Chris, it suits the castle well.

btw is the end wall (R/H/S)really that p***ed or is it lens distortion?
Just curious.

Agree with above comments stands out nicely with that great dramatic sky

Looking at it now I think it was me that was p***ed (I wish) I've had a play and a better example with less keystoning is below

Agree with above comments stands out nicely with that great dramatic sky
Thanks Allan
