Up here in Northumberland the weather is worsening, flood warnings, bus services withdrawn, never known it as bad as this.
I am finding leaks in buildings that have never leaked before, I have just had to go out and dig drainage trenches around the stables as there is so much surface water running off the fields that was beginning to flood the floor.
I now have to go out and cover the old stone ridge on the roof as the water is finding it's way through.

Still brightish though very cloudy here - does that make sense

Was going to head off to the peak district or Pennines at some point this weekend but I don't want to get any wetter than I need to so it looks like I may wait a bit!

It does but where is "here"

Bit of a nightmare Mel!
We have had a fair drop down south the last couple of days but "luckily" just minor localised flooding
Stay safe

I do have a burn at the bottom of the garden which at the moment is at its highest level ever since I moved here in 1978 it is now a raging river!!, it used to dry up for most of the summer and this is the first year it has never dried up.
Luckily it is a sloping garden, I have some pics of the burn I will add to this thread soon.

1. The lawn under water a seat can just about be seen in the l/h corner, the burn (river) is raging in amongst the trees, lousy pic but was more concerned about keeping the camera dry.

2. quite chuffed with this pic as it is my very first attempt at slow shutter speed to catch the motion.

3.these trees are under about 8ft of water here

Well I have to say, the weather has actually been really good up here (Caithness, far north Scotland) this summer...

Days where it rained for sure... some really HEAVY downpours, but on the whole, pretty good summer weather.

I`ve not been abroad and I`ve got a tan :D

I know that a lot of you have had loads of rain and storms... just last night there was bad storms that claimed at least one life if I`m not mistaken. :(

We`ve been really lucky up here... today was a wee bit windy but sunny too although the cloud was hovering around the sun kept bursting through.

Normally we get our fair share of bad weather/storms etc so I know how it feels but as I say so far it`s been good.

Have you got any pics of your burn that`s now a river Galaxy66? Be good to see it in action...

:)

Blimey Mal....sounds horrendous. Nice set of pics BTW

I know how you feel Galaxy... I took a drive this afternoon from Westerhope up to Cramlington and it took me about 45 mins due to all the standing water and forced detours.... (it's a 10 minute drive for those not in the know :) )

 Hope it dries up for ya.

I have had a lovely sunny day at Oulton Park today.

That doesnt help does it.
Sorry :coat:

So pleased you had a good day Matt:thumbs:, I have had an equally good day digging trenches, first in soft squigy soil turning to mud then across a track where I had to use a pick to get through the hardcore, then was up on the roof spreading a plastic sheet, up the road clearing out the drains so all the water did not come past my garage with all the floating debris, yes I have had a lovely day:(.
But, if you have seen the national news about Morpeth, 12 mile south of me, not as bad as what the have had to endure.
Oulten Park, did you take any good pics?.
