indeed, he's a stubborn man and might just gamble on it, the result if we win anyway is that he put his stamp on the team and showed he wouldn't bow to peer pressure. The result if we don't is he resigns.

Either way he might see it as no choice and that he wouldn't want to manage a team who were perceived to not be fully under his control anyway.

Good shout, but I would not rule out Spain, if they can put some more of their chances away.
On the assumption that England will win tomorrow, France must be awarded the prize for biggest disappointment. They have been a total disgrace to their nation, given the quality of their players. Are they getting paid too much with their clubs and can't be bothered during what would normally be their summer break?

Still not convinced with Spain They've got a big task to beat Chile in their final group game and I fancy Switzerland to beat Honduras in which case Spain may well be following France.

Anelka had an argument with their excuse for a manager (not shaking the hand of the South African manager is insulting to Fifa and the SA Manager, and is a total disgrace to France), and so the manager sent him packing, to which the rest of the players decided to retaliate by refusing to train and basically telling the manager to stuff himself.
Good stuff lads.

Its the knockout stages now. One game at a time and a lucky goal can win the game. No reason England can't continue to progress.

watched the match online, but it had a lag of abourt 20 secs so we kept hearing noise from the pubs, which kept putting the wind up us!
Atleast they pulled out a creditable performance atlast.
 
So the French give up early and go home, the US arrive at the last minute and we get left to fight the Germans. That's never happened before!
